3rd Person POV
"I can't believe you dragged me away from Jisung for this," Chenle grumbled.
"Completing tasks before getting ass," Hendery replied.
They were outside the apartment complex where Lea was murdered. The crime had been kept on the down low (unlike Ten and Yangyang's love), and while the police probably knew about some of the crimes related to the organization, they knew better than to interfere. They entered the building and swiftly crossed through the lobby to the elevator.
"What exactly are we supposed to be looking for?" Yangyang asked as the elevator doors closed. "Wasn't the scene wiped clean?"
"There could always be things that were missed," Sicheng replied.
"But it's NCT," Yangyang persisted. "They're good at their jobs and know how to cover their tracks."
"If they were that good at their jobs, we wouldn't have an image of someone who's possibly one of their members leaving the scene," Kun said.
"We don't even know if he's one of them," Yangyang grumbled.
"You've already lost this one, buddy," Lucas told him.
The doors opened and they stepped out into the empty hallway. The door with an X of caution tape over it was a dead giveaway, and Kun tore the tape away. He tried turning the knob, but it wouldn't budge.
"Renjun," Kun called for the younger.
"Step aside, amateurs," Renjun pushed through Hendery and Lucas.
Renjun cracked his neck, knuckles, and back before doing a few stretches. Seconds of silence passed before he delivered a roundhouse kick right above the knob. The door flew open, revealing the deserted apartment. The men took cautious steps into the room, which had the appearance of that the owner had gone out for a short time with the intention of coming back. There was a chalk outline on top of the island that continued onto one of the chairs, which showed where Lea was when she died.
"Spread out," Kun told them. "Look for even the tiniest details."
Everyone nodded and went their separate ways. Kun and Xiaojun stayed in the living room, while Chenle checked the kitchen, Hendery and Sicheng went into each bathroom, Renjun and Lucas examined the bonus room, and Yangyang scowered the bedrooms. Yangyang had a feeling like he had something to prove. While he was a senior agent, he rarely made significant contributions to WayV. This would be his contribution, he just had to find it.
He looked around the master bedroom, and he noticed it was much cleaner than the others. He ran his hand over the bed, which had the blankets made flawlessly. As he brought his hand up, he saw something thin fall from it onto the rug. Yangyang crouched down and scanned the rug for what fell. It wasn't that hard to find against the snow white rug, and he picked the black strand up. He examined it between his fingers, and came to the conclusion that it was a hair, and it couldn't have been Lea's, since her hair was blonde and short at the time of her death.
"You really aren't all that, are you, Bunny Boy from NCT?" Yangyang thought with a smirk.
"Everyone!" Yangyang called out. "I got something."
"What is it?" Kun asked when everyone made it into the room.
Yangyang held up the hair, "I got our guy."
Kun was impressed with him, and it was clear on his face that Yangyang had found something big.
"Chenle, call Ten," Kun said. "Tell him that there's an update."
Me: When I say "the update is" you say "here" Me: The update is Y'all: Here!!! Me: The update is Y'all: Here!!!!
Hey everybody!!! How are y'all doing? I hope y'all liked the update. It took me a week to write this, and it's been going like that for a while, so I think my update schedule for both this story and my new one will be one update a week from now on.
