Its been about a week since i ran away from the owl house and ive been doing ok i was able to build a house on the titans knee it was honestly the only place i could really go to

ive been doing bountys under the alias Crow to get money for food and supplies ive also changed the color of the coven uniform i have to so i wont stand out everything but the gloves are a darker grey mostly back while the gloves are red today something or more precisely somone catches my attention when i reach the bounty board luz king eda and lilith i instantly go invisible so they cant see me as i silently make my way towards the bounty board i searched for the highest paying job and found one for a selkidomus that was attacking ships on the coast

that doesn't seem right selkidomus are gentle animals ive read about them in beastkeeping books they only get aggressive when attacked or if they have a baby with them there extremely overprotective i definitely have to check it out
As im leaving i take one last look at luz and eda before leaving i cant face them not after what i did

I head over to the simmering shoals the place where the selkidomus was last spotted but it takes awhile since its so far out on the ocean as i fly across the boiling sea i see ruins of wrecked ships i then reach the shore where i see tracks that lead into the cave i slowly follow them until i see an opening i hear a small noise and when i finally reach it i find a baby selkidomus

"Aww hey there little one do you know where your mom is?"

Suddenly i hear a giant roar behind me as i duck to hide i look out the cave and see eda and luz talking with someone in a golden mask

Huh i wounder whats going on i look out of my hiding spot and see the mother selkidomus i slowly walk over to it and use beastkeeping magic to tame it

"Dont worry girl im not here to hurt you im actually here to protect you and your baby"

The mother nods before nuzzling me

"Awww your so cute"

Then suddenly luz jumps on its head

SHIT i instantly turn invisible

Ok i gotta cover my face somehow like a mask i then remember the dude with the golden mask outside i hide behind a corner and make a version of his mask out of abomination goo i put it on my face and i run out grabbing luz put of the air with abomination magic

"Dont worry girl i got you!"

I throw luz into a bush nearby hiding her but then suddenly eda comes swinging in

"Ugh ok now you too" i do the same to eda putting her next to luz

"Its ok there gone now!" I lift my mask to make sure the mother knew it was me

"Witches and sailors are hunting you so you and your baby have to go north further away ok?"

The mother selkidomus nods before gagging something out

"Wait ive read about this its selkigris!
This sells for a ton on the night market! Even just a small pile should be worth 3 times as much as your bounty! I should definitely leave the rest for luz and eda though they definitely need it and deserve it way more than i do"

I hear footsteps behind me and i put my mask on and turn around and see eda and luz walk towards me

"Can i help you 2?"

"Yeah you can firstly start of by telling us who your are" eda said glaring at me

"Well if you really must know my name is Crow and im trying to protect this selkidomus from hunters"

"Were sorry we didn't want to harm it we can help drive the hunters away"

"Ok thats fine but I'll wait here to make sure your telling the truth and if you are I'll give you the majority of the pile i only need a small portion"

"Got it" they both go off towards entrance of the cave and start there distraction and after a few minutes they come back

"Ok we drove off the hunters the mother and her child should be safe now"

"Good ive already explained to the mother that they should move futher out now let me take my small share and you can have the rest"

I grab my small share and put it in a bag before teleporting it away then walk out of the cave and fly away im fly extremely fast so i dont notice the red flash i crash into everything happened fast but I was able to grab him and his staff with both my hands while i held on to mines with my tail

Oh no he's unconscious i rush towards solid ground before teleporting back to my house i gently place him on my couch i took off his cloak and hang it next to him but i leave his mask on i heal him just to be safe i nervously wait next to him for at least an hour before he starts slowly waking up but while hes resting a examine his mask and the copy i made i can definitely make a replica i make a wood version but make it a dark grey with owl ears poking up this can definitely be useful for keeping my identity secret

"Ugh where am i?"

"oh thank titan your awake i accidentally crashed into when you were flying and well you fell unconscious and i saved you from falling into the boiling sea brought you back too my house and healed you"

"Did you take off my mask?"

"No! Absolutely not i kept it on but i did take your cloak off but i put it right next to you along with your staff"

Oh boy he was actually really nice its really sad that he understands what im going through from personal experience i hope we can become good friends

Once its night i gather my bag of selkiris and go to the night market where im able to sell it for a good 3 million snails but i notice something in the back of the shop

"Quick question is that a full log of palistrom wood?"

"Yeah it is you intrested in buying? Its 100,000 for the full thing"

"I would like to pruchase that full log please" i say handing them the money

As i get home i carefully lay it on the ground and cut it carefully into 3 pieces and fortunately there where 3 seeds this is actually really good because ive read that palistern wood is being over harvest but i need to find a better environment but that can wait until later because now im going to practice wood carving pretty soon i should be decent enough to start carving a palisman for myself
