Me and luz were practicing glyphs in the living before school we found a plant symbol in a flower we did our best the copy it correctly but the most we could summon was a single flower
"Look king our glyph skills our blossoming" luz joked
"You 2 think making flowers is impressive im watching 2 warrior's battle to the death" king replies
We sit next to him to see what he was talking about and he was just watching a cat video
"Well it looks like the portal was able to let wifi pass through" luz says as she takes her phone from king
Suddenly my phone goes off and so does luz i check my phone and see my mom had message me my heart dropped

I start sweating and breathing fast as i respond
Ive been at camp mom
Dont you dare lie to me your my son i can tell when your lying ive been tracking your phone i know your not at camp
My heart starts to beat faster as i get even more nervous as i start thinking of all the terrible things she'll do to me if she ever found about this place
I was so focused on this i didn't even notice luz trying to get my attention
"Mirabel is everything ok?" Luz asked looking really concerned
I slowly shook my head as i give her my phone her eyes widen when she reads the messages and then gives me a tight hug
"Its going to be ok mirabel she has no way to get here you'll be safe"
I slowly nod my head as i start to take deep breaths then suddenly the door opens
"Its time for you 2 to go to school and fill your heads with knowledge" hooty says throwing up some books willow and gus peek through the door
"Please hurry up the more i stand here the more uncomfortable i get" willow says looking really uncomfortable next to hooty
But then suddenly another person peeks through the door it was viney
When i saw her i started to feel much better not fully but definitely better than before i run to her and give her a big hug
"Woah good morning to you to mirabel" viney said shocked her face also turned a bit red
When we got to school the halls were filled with decorations
"I gotta go to the beastkeeping homeroom to check on puddles see you in class" viney says before walking away
"Oh right i forgot today's grom"
"Grom?" luz asked confused
"Its basically a school dance" i tell her
"Ooo a school dance huh soo have anyone you wanna ask out?" Luz said nudging me
My face turns red
"So viney edric or emira?"
"Honestly luz i want to ask all 3 of them but how would that even work out and would they even say yes?"
"Mirabel im sure it'll go well you just have to take a risk"
"Yeah you know what your right I'll go for it why not"
The suddenly luz bumps into amity dropping all of her stuff
"Watch it nitwit oh luz sorry"
"Its ok oo what's this?" Luz says picking up a pink piece of paper
