when she was young her mother used the portal to escape to the human realm because she didn't like how belos ruled she begged eda to barrow the portal eda she agreed and mirabels mother gave it back after she was in the human realm mirabel grows up with luz there close friends cause there weird and like the same stuff mirabel knows illusion and abomination magic but very little since her mom doesn't want people to know she uses illusion magic to cover up mirabel tail and ears to help her fit in
A perfect example on how the she would look is similar to zidane from final fantasy 9 where hes basically all human except that he has a tail
