Mistake

ch 4; Nightmare

It's the first night in the bed. And Sonic was haunted by a nightmare.
The blue hedgehog is twisting nervously, with bothered and sweaty face.
"No-..." he mumbles while asleep.
"...Don't... No..." he adds silently with the hands moving in the air as they tries keeping something away from him.
He whimpers with tears in the corners of his eyes. Barely attached to his eyelashes.
"N-no..." he stutters with the tears falling from the eyes to the sides of his face.

In the dream, Sonic was laying in the bed.
The room was dark and only a little moonlight came through the sun-blinds, since those were down and just a little tilted to let through a slightly light from outside.
Suddenly the window creaks slowly opened and the sun-blind starts flapping from the cold wind.
Sonic jolts with the heart pounding loudly.
Soon he sees a dark silhouette with red glowing eyes as fire, entering through the window.
"No-..." Sonic says in fear.
The vampire alike hedgehog, walks toward him.
The blue hedgehog starts trembling and pulls the blanket a slightly upward against the chin.
Soon the ebony hedgehog climbs up on the bed and moves towards him.
"...Don't... No..." he begs when the vampire leans over him and down toward his neck.
Sonic extends the arms up and tries keeping the vampire away from him.
The vampire hisses and parts his lips where fangs appeared.
The blue hedgehog wides the eyes and could feel how tears starts building up.
The whimpering hedgehog tries pushing the vampire whose dark quills have red stripes on them.
But the vampire is awfully strong and his fangs get closer to his neck.
"N-no..." Sonic cries and could feel how he lost strength in the arms.
Soon the vampire's had his fangs close to the side of Sonic's throat.
"...Mephiles..." the vampire says.
Sonic grunts surprised.
"Mep-..." he starts asking when a sharp pain struck him, the moment the vampire's fangs impaled the thin skin, on the side of the throat.
Sonic exhales a loudly cry of pain and jerk while the vampire starts draining blood from him. And therefore, his life force.
Sonic keeps screaming while the heart at first pounds loudly.
But soon the heartbeats decrease until they completely stop pounding.
The vampire let's go of his neck with a bloody smirk.
Grinning while enjoying the sight of his dead prey...

Shadow wakes bolting up the moment he heard Sonic screaming loudly.
The ebony hedgehog reaches after the night lamp on the nightstand and turns the light on.
Then he looks worried at his sleeping husband who starts sounding as he was choking.
"SONIC-... Wake up baby..." Shadow begs and shakes Sonic with the hands on his shoulders.
At first Sonic doesn't reacts to Shadow attempts to wake him up.
Shadow growls with gritted teeth and starts shaking Sonic's body a slightly faster.
"Sonic, wake up... It's time to wake up..." he says and starts feeling panic the more Sonic chokes.
Soon it sounds as Sonic wasn't even breathing.
Shadow wides the eyes and froze for a short moment. Sonic couldn't be dead, right?
Shadow flinches and raises a hand before slapping it hardly at Sonic's cheek.
Finally the blue hedgehog wakes up and inhales deeply as he was filling the deflated lungs with new air.
"Ouch-..." Sonic mumbles silently and puts a hand on the cheek while sitting a slightly confused up.
Then the nightmare came back to his mind and he starts whimpering with lowered ears.

Shadow was at first, exhaling in relief despite he was feeling a bit guilty to harm him.
But then he looks worried at the whimpering hedgehog.
"What's wrong babe?" He asks and pulls Sonic in a warm hug.
The second Sonic was embraced and felt safe, he starts crying shakily.
Sonic lays the side of the head on Shadow's white chest fur and starts sobbing.
"Th-the V-vampire-..." he stutters crying and couldn't stop trembling, despite he knew he was safe now.
shadow shushes him and wraps the arms tighter around him.
"Don't worry-... He won't harm you anymore... And-... Vampires don't exist. So, you have nothing to worry..." he tells Sonic and places a soft kiss on the top of his head.
Sonic sniffles and seems relaxing a little from those comforting words.
"I-I... I K-know..." he swallows hardly and rubs the face against Shadow's chest.
"H-he... K-killed M-me... I was S-so A-afraid..." Sonic adds and made Shadow to flinch in guilt.
Shadow furrows the eyebrows bothered.
Vampires might not exist. But monsters do.
And sadly Sonic is married with one...
