Since Shadow hadn't got any chance to pack anything, he walks back home with Knuckles as support from the background.
Even though he is convincing himself, he's only going back home to pack a few things. He actually wants a chance to talk with Sonic. And maybe make few things right between them...
Not like he could hope to get back together with him... No... But! They are still getting a child(/ two children)together...So, no matter what Sonic likes about it... Shadow has rights still, to meet his child/children.
And there aren't anything Sonic could do about that...
Shadow stands in front the closed door, while Knuckles sits down on the porch at the first step from the top, on the broad stairs.
The dark furred hedgehog's heart pounds loudly and anxiously.
He closes the eyes and started listening at Knuckles' whistling.
The light and soft tune from his friend, calms him down a bit and he opened the eyes before knocking.
Yeah, he might has the key. But it feels somewhat rude to barge in after how things ended up between Sonic and him.
Shadow lowered the fist and un-clenched the hand.
He thought he would had heard any approaching footsteps by now.
The hedgehog glances curiously against the two windows closest the door. One on each side of the door, with least one meter away from it.
But he couldn't even see any hint of movements or any blue.
"Weird-..." he scoffs muttering, and wait a little more until he takes the key up and opened the door.
"SONIC?-... ARE YOU HOME?" He shouts while walking into the house, where he closes the door behind him.
Knuckles starts tapping the feet along the rhythm to the song he is whistling.
And when he also starts tapping the hands on the knees, he starts looking to the side, down to the ground.
Suddenly the movements and the whistling halted.
The echidna parts the lips while staring at a weird bug who seems smashed.
He hasn't seen anything alike that. Especially not a bug where electricity comes out from it...
Knuckles stands up and walks down the few steps of the stairs.
Then he curiously picks the smashed bug up, and starts examining it. But only during a few seconds until Shadow came out in hurry.
"SONIC IS GONE-..." Shadow bursts out in panic.
Knuckles turns the face toward him.
"He is probably only out somewhere... You know... At the shop... Or at Tails' place..." he shrugs.
Shadow shakes the head, and walks down the stairs.
"I don't know... I'm just worried something bad has happened with him..." he explains worried with a bit faster breathing.
Knuckles looks down at the palm where he still holds the weird bug.
"Hey-... Look what I found..." The echidna says and moves the hand toward Shadow.
Shadow grunts confused, and looks down at Knuckles' palm where he could see the smashed bug.
The hedgehog raises an eyebrow, and gasps shocked when he sees the electricity sparking from the smashed bug.
The same bug who stung him, the day where he later killed Sonic...
Knuckles let's out a short chuckle.
"I have never seen a bug like that... Have you?"
Shadow wides the eyes a little.
"...No..." he exhales.
"...And it cannot be a real bug... " he adds and inhales deeply.
Shadow yanks Knuckles' arm.
"... We better ask Tails about it..." The dark furred hedgehog says and starts pulling Knuckles who exhales surprised while stumbling a few steps.
" A-about W-what?"
Shadow scoffs.
"About the bug-... 'Cause I'm sure everything started the moment it stung me... After it stung me, I felt weird... So maybe... Just maybe... I'm not completely the one to blame..." he explains, and has a feeling something isn't right. That, he might has been tricked to kill Sonic etc...

Tails scratches behind the ear in confusion.
"As far I can see... There shouldn't be any bomb inside you..." he tells Sonic after they've had run a few test.
Sonic raises an eyebrow while sitting on the edge of the wood, examining table.
"Are you sure about that?" The blue hedgehog asks a bit doubtfully and starts kicking the legs a little restless in the air.
The fox glances down on the result he holds in the hands.
Tails hums nodding and looks back up at Sonic.
"Yes-... According these tests, there aren't any hint of any bomb... If Eggman told you the truth... Which I'm skeptical about... The bomb must be in your cells... And if that's the case... Then there are no way he would be able to take it out... So, I bet he is only tricking you... "
