(Dipper pov)
I rest my head back against the headrest of my police cruiser, my eyes boredly scanning over the cars passing by, my speedometer laying in my lap. This is unfair. For 5 years I worked my ass off to become a detective and was almost there. Until I got demoted for trying to pursue a lead that pointed at the senator. Now I'm stuck at traffic control. It's a heaping load of bullshit if you ask me.
I glance to my right as a car honks at a guy in a yellow hoodie, him obviously jaywalking when the car had the right of way. The guy turns, flipping off the driver. As he does this I see a glimpse of his face, more importantly I see the bandage wrapped over his right eye.
I reach into my pocket taking out the police sketch from a case that went cold earlier in the week and sure enough it's him.
"Son of a bitch." I mutter as I see him head into a warehouse across the street.
I grab the car radio, my eyes never looking away from the warehouse.
"Dispatch, this is Officer Pines. I need backup at 5961 Carpenter's Road. I believe there is a possible fugitive there from the Murphy family case. Over."
"Units are being sent to your location right away, just sit tight. Over."
"Negative. I'm heading inside before he has a chance to escape. Over and out."
I set the car radio down as I get out of the car, making my way across the street and into the warehouse silently.
I unholster my gun hearing what I think is that stupid 'Ice Ice Baby' song that tends to play on the radio over and over. I walk further into the warehouse, turning a corner and see him with his hood down and back to me.
He's kneeled down in front of a backpack putting things into it, a small battery powered radio next to him playing that stupid song. I gulp nervously as I raise my gun so it's pointed at the back of his head.
"H-Hands up where I can see th-them." Fuck, why does my voice have to crack now?
He puts his hands up as he rises to his feet and turns to face me. Geez, this dude is really tall compared to me.
"Bill Cipher, you're under arrest for the murder of the entire Murphy family."
He just smirks slightly. "Really? You and what army?"
"I don't need an army for just one man."
"Are you sure about that?" He takes a step towards me forcing me to take a step back, the gun shaking in my hands as I keep it aimed at his chest.
"S-Stay b-back or I-I'll shoot."
"No you won't." He laughs slightly with a small shake of his head, his tone like he's gently scolding a child.
"Y-Yes I will."
"No, you won't." He takes another step towards me, forcing me to take another one back.
"S-Stop it!"
"Make me then, Pinetree." I don't have time to question the name as he takes yet another step towards me forcing me to take yet another step back.
I pull the trigger and see he looks slightly surprised at this but the gun doesn't fire. I keep trying to the same effect. He throws his head back laughing as I keep trying to shoot him, feeling my entire body trembling in fear.
"Maybe next time, take your safety off before you go and try to shoot someone."
He lunges at me, his hands grabbing for the gun as I struggle trying to keep a hold of it. I feel something hard collide with my face, no idea if it's his elbow or fist, but it sends me to the ground feeling warm blood streaming down from my nose.
I lean up on my elbow looking up at him ahe points my own gun at me, flicking the safety off before he looks down at me with slight amusement.
"Gotta hand it to you, kid, I did not think you would actually ever pull the trigger. You sure got balls for someone your size."
Sirens blare outside and his amusement turns to a mix of anger and annoyance. He fires the gun, the bullet ripping through my shoulder sending me on my back yelling pain. I put my hand over the bullet wound as he kneels down pinning me there with his knee on my chest as he swats my hand away from the wound on my shoulder.
"How many are out there?"
"What? I don't-"
His thumb plunges into my bullet wound making me scream in pain.
"I already know you called for back up before coming in here on your own. How many are out there?"
"I don't know, I don't know! Usually only two other squad cars but it might be more since I told there was a possible fugitive in here."
"Possible fugitive?"
"It's protocol when we think we see a culprit from an unsolved case."
He stands up grabbing the collar of my uniform forcing me up on my feet.
"You're coming with me."
"N-No I'm not!"
He grabs the back of my neck tightly and I whimper feeling the gun pressed up against my side. "Either you play along or I just kill you right here. So, what's it going to be?"
"O-Okay, okay.....just p-please don't kill me...."
"That's a good boy." I can practically hear the smirk in his voice before he pulls me to the back of the warehouse and into a back alley.
I grab at his arm as he wraps it around my neck from behind and presses the gun to my temple as a squad car pulls into the alley and an officerI recognize gets out of the car, gun drawn, and pointed at Bill.
"Drop the gun and let him go!"
"Fat fucking chance! Drop your gun now! I guarantee he'll die if you don't!"
The officer reluctantly puts his gun down and I watch in horror as he shoots the officer in the head, his body lifelessly falls to the ground before Bill shoves me forward. "Search his pockets."
"W-What?!"
"Get his fucking keys now!" He points the gun at me and not wanting to die I seard the dead officer's pockets until I find his car keys. Bill snatches them from me before he forces me into the backseat of the car. "Stay down unless you want to be deader than that fucking pig."
I do as he says, laying down on the seat to keep my entire body out fo sight as he gets in the driver's seat and speeds out of there. I'm tempted to try and see where he's driving but choose not to risk it. I try instead to memorize the turns but he turns on too many different roads for me to be able to keep track of anything.
He finally stops the car, gets out and pulls me out of the car.
"Where are you taking me?"
"That's on a need-to-know basis, Pinetree."
Before I can argue further he hits me in the back of the head with the gun and everything goes dark as my body goes limp.
