As soon as we got home, Tío Charlie insisted on taking us to the Diner for dinner. Bella and I order pretty much the same thing; a cheeseburger combo, no tomato or onion, pickles on the side. Bella however, orders the meatless imitation version. It tastes the same as the regular, but is three dollars extra.
"I just cant get over how grown up you two are." the waitress says as she puts our food in front of us. "And so gorgeous." she smiles at Bella. "And you," she says, looking at me. "You look just like a perfect blend of your parents." she smiles sadly at me. "I'm so sorry for what happened. They were good people."
Before I get to respond, a man walks up and interrupts the conversation
"Hey Bella, Angel." he says as he walks up to us. "You remember me?" he smiles down at us. Bella and I exchange a glance before looking back up at him.
"I played Santa one year." he says.
"Yeah Waylon, they haven't had Christmas here since Bella was four and Ángel was three." Tío Charlie tells the man.
"I bet I made an impression though, didn't I?" the man I now know is named Waylon chuckles.
"You always do."
"Butt-crack Santa." the waitress smiles, and a faint memory drifts to me. Bella and I laugh.
"Hey, kids love those little bottles though." he says.
"Alright, let the kids eat their burgers, Waylon." the waitress says, ushering him away.
"As soon as you guys are done, I will bring you your favorites. Berry cobbler, remember?" she looks at Bella. "Your dad still has it. Every thursday." she says.
"And for you, a slice of peanut butter pie." she smiles. "It was actually your father's recipe. He sold it to the Diner before he went off to college."
I smile at her.
"I didn't know that. That sounds great."
Bella nods.
"Thank you." she adds. The waitress smiles at us and walks away. I eat in silence. Another reminder of my parents' loss is more than I can take.

I'm sitting on Bella's floor, doing homework with her and talking to Tía Renée on the phone.
"If spring training goes well, we could be moving to Florida!" Tía Renée says over the phone.
"Please insert $1.25." an automated voice says. She must be using a pay phone.
"Tía, where's your phone?" I ask her.
"Okay, don't laugh. I didn't loose it, it ran away." all three of us chuckle. "I literally repel technology."
"I miss you." Bella says.
"Oh baby, I miss you too." she replies. "And you too Angel." I smile at this.
"So tell me more about your school. What are the kids like? Are there any cute guys? Angel, we know your taste in guys is better, how about you? Any hotties?" I laugh while Bella scoffs.
"Are they being nice to you two?"
Bella sighs before responding.
"Well, they're all very welcoming." she says sarcastically.
"Uh, oh, tell me all about it."
"It doesn't even matter." she says.
"Of course it does honey."
"We have homework to do. Talk to you later."
"Okay. I love you Bella."
"Love you too"
"I love you Angel."
"I love you too tía." I reply. Bella hangs up. She sighs before putting her phone down and looking down at me.
"Are you gonna tell me about what happened in art class now?" she asks.
I sigh and pull my legs up to my chest, putting my chin on my knees.
"Yeah. I walked into class and was seated next to Rosalie Cullen. We were given an assignment to draw our scariest memory. Did I ever tell you what I saw after the car accident?"
She shakes her head no.
"After the truck smashed into our car, I crawled out of the backseat. I got up and saw that my mom's door was in decent shape, since the truck hit more of the drivers side. But when I opened it, I saw..." I take in and let out a shaky breath.
"My parents were dead." I look up at her, meeting her eyes. "They looked awful Isa. They were covered in blood, their eyes and mouths were open, their bodies were bent in unnatural ways." I choke out a sob. Bella gets off of her bed and pulls me into her arms.
"So that was my scariest memory. And that's what I drew. But it was so weird, it was like I went into a trance. I was crying while drawing, and just, completely shut the rest of the world out. I didn't snap out of it until the teacher and Rosalie were shaking my shoulders. Then I ran out of the classroom. Apparently this blackout thing lasted the whole class because the bell rang a few minutes after I left the class. Rosalie gave me my stuff."
She doesn't say anything after a long time.
"I'm so sorry. And after that shit Jessica was talking at lunch..." Bella trails off.
"Yeah." I whisper. We stay there until I fall asleep in her arms.

I wake up the next morning in my bed, so either Bella or Tío Charlie, or both, carried me to my room.
I start my usual morning schedule; brush teeth, shower, facial routine, lotion, then clothes. I choose an all-black outfit, a black turtleneck, a black pea coat that belonged to my mom, a pair of black baggy jeans, with no rips this time, and my black Dr. Martens.
I style my hair the same way as yesterday and put on my new necklace and ring.
On the ride to school, Bella tells me that she plans to confront Edward. I offer to be moral support, so I wait with her once we get there.
We are leaning against the hood of Bella's truck listening to music on Bella's earbuds, but when the Cullen's pull up, Edward's not with them. I shrug and give Bella a hug, then walk away, not wanting to stay out in the cold. I can tell she needs some time to think anyway.
"Are you okay?" I hear someone ask me as I get to my locker. I look up to see Alice.
"Oh, yeah, why?" I can see the other Cullens behind them, minus Edward of course.
"Rosalie told us what happened in your guy's art class." she grabs my arm and pulls me into a hug.
"Oh, that."
She nods. I can see Rosalie behind Alice, staring at me, almost as if demanding an explanation. Behind her, Emmett mouths something I take to be 'don't hold it in'. I'm honestly surprised that he didn't tell them already.
"Uh, can I tell you all at lunch?" I ask Alice
"Yeah, come sit with us!" she smiles. The bell rings and I go to my english class with Bella.
