"I'm gonna sit somewhere else at lunch, okay?"
"Oh my gosh, with who? You can't leave me to fend for myself." Bella replies.
"Relax Isa. I'm gonna sit with the Cullens." she gasps and I hold up a finger to stop her.
"I think they want me the be their friend, and no offence, the only friend of yours I like is Angela. Plus, they want to make sure that I'm okay after what happened in Art class."
"What are you gonna tell them?"
"Everything. Our whole family history stuff. I already told Emmett about my parents being... you know, so I'm gonna tell the rest of them too."
I can tell that she's not happy about it.
"Maybe I could find out about Edward for you?" This convinces her.
After we get out trays, I give her a hug and start walking to the Cullen table. I can see everyone looking at me as I walk over. Alice, Jasper, and Emmett smile as I walk up. Rosalie stays stoic, but leans forward as I approach them. Alice gestures to an empty seat with the back facing everyone else in the cafeteria, so I only have to look at them. I slide into the seat and place my tray down.
"Hi y'all." I smile at them. It's a little awkward being with all of them since I've only ever had them one on one or with just two of them.
"Hi Angel. How were you morning classes?" asks Emmett.
"Alright. Nothing interesting happened in any of them."
"Speaking of interesting things happening in classes..." Rosalie starts.
"Right. Art class yesterday." they all nod.
"Rosalie told you about the assignment?"
"Draw your scariest memory." Jasper responds.
"Okay, good. Before I start, what do you all know about me?" I hold a finger up to Emmett. "Not you, I want to tell them." he nods. Rosalie squints her eyes at him and looks like she's about to ask something before Alice interrupts.
"You used to live here, and now you've moved back." she states. "You and Bella's parents are friends, you moved to LA when you were little, and grew up with Bella. You moved to Phoenix, then to here."
I nod.
"And that's all?" I ask.
"Yup." Jasper replies.
"Okay, that leaves a lot to talk about. I'll try to make it breif." I start.
"My father, Ricardo Santos, is from Forks. He and my tío Charlie, Bella's dad, were best friends growing up, along with a guy named Billy Black from La Push. My dad went to Cornish College of the Arts, where he met my mom, Maria Cristóbal. They fell in love in college, and when they graduated, they moved back here. My mom became friends with Charlie as well. Then Bella's parents got married, and the four of them were all best friends. Then Bella was born, and a few months later, her mom, my tía Renée, took her back to California with her and divorced Charlie. About a year later, I was born. I met Bella the first time she visited her dad back here, and we became fast friends, along with Jacob Black, Billy's son.
When I was three, my mom got a position teaching at UCLA, so we all moved to Los Angeles. I got to be closer to Bella year-round, which I was really happy about. Then Bella and her mom moved to Pheonix. We would still see each other often, and I would usually spend my summers and holidays here in Forks until my dad's parents passed away."
I pause to take a shaky breath. The Cullens are all listening intently, so I go back into the hardest part of the story.
"Three months ago, I was in the backseat of my parents car, both of them in the front. A semi-truck going the opposite way lost control and crashed into us. My parents were instantly killed. After I crawled out of the backseat, I opened the door and saw my parents' bodies." I look up at them, pulling out my sketchbook. I open it to the first page and show them the drawing I did of it.
"When I draw, I tend to zone out, but it's never been that bad. I was crying really hard."
"Full on sobbing." Rosalie clarifies. "You even scared me. We tried for a few minutes to snap you out of it before you finally did."
"I'm sorry that happened to you Angel." Alice says.
"I never know how to respond to that. I'm sorry too. I wake up every day hoping that it's all been a bad dream, and my parents are still alive." Jasper and Rosalie nod in understanding.
"Three months ago, I moved in with tía Renée and Bella, and three days ago, Bella and I moved here."
Allice gets up and hugs me.
"Thank you for sharing with us." she says. I nod and smile.
"Um. This might seem like an awkward question, but could I sit wth you guys more often? I don't really have other friends of my own, and besides Angela, I don't relly like any of Bella's friends."
"Why not?" asks Rosalie.
"Well, the boys that she hangs out with, Mike, Eric, and Tyler, are all fighting over her. Angela's cool, but Jessica..." I trail off and steal a glance behind me to find Jessica and Angela laughing, with Bella half paying attention amd half watching me. I look back to the Cullens.
"She's kind of a chismosa, and it makes me uncomfortable."
Rosalie, Emmett, and Alice all blink at me.
"It means gossiper. He's saying that she's a gossiper." Jasper clarifies.
"Oh, right, sorry. Chismosa is Spanish for gossiper." the others all nod in understanding
"What was she saying?" Rosalie asks.
"Right. Well she was actually telling us about you guys. She mentioned that Jasper and Alice are, like, together in a romantic way, and that there are rumors of you and Emmett being..." I trail off.
"Gay?" she asks, raising an eyeborw.
"Yeah. I just don't really like gossip. I've always been on the receiving end of it. She was saying that it would be a waste if Emmet was gay because he would end up with a guy instead of a girl, and then she said that it was weird that gay people wre in the same locker rooms as everyone else and... I just can't help wondering what would happen if she finds out that I'm gay."
Emmett looks up from his tray at this.
"I mean, Eric is on the school newspaper, and he's always looking for a headline. Maybe if Bella told him not to, he wouldn't publish a story outing me, but-"
"Angel." Rosalie snaps. I look back at her and meet her eyes.
"It's true. Me and Emmett are gay. Thank you for trusting us. Of course you can sit with us anytime you like. You shouldn't let what other people think get in the way though."
"I know. I'm not ashamed or anything. It's just, I don't think I can deal with being outed right now, especially with my entire life changing in a span of months."
She nods, understanding. The bell rings, signaling the end of lunch.
"What class do you have next?" Emmett asks.
"Bioogy. With Bella and Edward. Where is he by the way?" I ask.
"Out of town, visiting some family in Alaska. He'll probably be back in a week or so." Alice answers. I nod and say goodbye to them, catching up with Bella and heading to Biology.
A/N:
Here's another chapter, I hope you enjoyed!
I finally watched Multiverse of Madness today and it lowkey made me want to start writing my Violet Witch Fanfic again. I'm gonna re-structure the story a bit, since I have some new ideas, but maybe keep an eye out for that soon? No promises of course, since I have this fic and The Ice Prince still ongoing, and The Worst Malfoy in the works, but don't be surprised if I revamp The Violet Witch soon.
School's starting up again soon, and I'm running out of pre-written chapters for this fic, so there might be a slight lull in uploads as I get all my stuff together, but I promise to get as many chapters written as I can!
Have a great day/night/whenever it is for you!
