Questioning Means Uncertainty

Chapter Seven

I smiled as a jock stumbled towards me, catching himself just before hitting us. He looked up at me, smiled, then winked. I rolled my eyes and raised my eyebrow at Jason. He chuckled as the jock returned to Rei. The other jocks in the group had also started to join. Rei's atmosphere changed and her aura got slightly darker. Jocks flung themselves at her from all sides, she simply stood and jumped over one, letting them hit each other. The jock from before charged her and she kicked his shoulder, probably dislocating it. The jock crumpled to the ground in pain, clutching his shoulder and swearing. She looked over at us and smiled sweetly. She had a pretty smile. I smiled back and waved. Jason wrapped his arms around my waist as Rei kneed a jock and kicked him to the side, making him dig his face in the dirt. Jason dug his face in my neck, taking in my warmth. It was nice but a bit too much PDA for the whole school, no? Rei broke another one of the jock's arms and he fell, cursing at her. The breaking was very loud, even the humans cringed in awe. As the jock from before tried standing, she forced him back down with a blow to his head, not causing damage but knocking him out. As people dragged him out, she sent another one out of commission by breaking his rib. The crack was definitely more than just noticeable. Fuck! She was good.

One of the last two tried grabbing her hoodie and pinning her, to let the other go at it I assumed. This was unsuccessful since Rei whipped around and hit him with her elbow, by accident it seemed.

"Shit, I was trying not to use my arms." She frowned, with genuine disappointment. I, along with Jason and Emma, laughed in amusement. Josh simply stared in awe, not knowing Rei was capable of this much. I guess he knew she was capable from other fights, but not like this?

She had hit him straight on and broke his nose, blood trickled down his face. Rei's aura got darker but she blinked it away and it returned as it was before. I breathed calmly, blood wasn't a good thing. Luckily, our morning breakfast helped prevent us going wild. He held his nose and smiled, thinking she forgot about the other jock. She smiled and stepped to the side, letting him pass by and crash right into the other. These were probably the most uncoordinated people I'd ever seen fight. They knocked each other out and Rei's aura returned to what it usually was. She turned towards us and removed her hands from her pockets to wipe off some blood one of them spilled onto her. She yawned afterwards, did her kids let her sleep?

"You aren't human, you're a fucking monster!" The jock with a broken arm yelled, with fear and confusion in his eyes. Rei simply smiled and winked before turning to us. Technically speaking, he wasn't entirely wrong.

"Where do we go now?" She questioned as we started to walk away from the scene.

"We could all go do something together?" I suggested.

"That sounds fun, but where?" Josh said. I looked at Rei and Emma then raised my eyebrow. "Are we also just gonna move on from that?"

"Really? Now?" Rei questioned in a tiresome tone. "Alright, let's go."

"What? Where are we going?" Josh inquired, Jason was also confused until I looked at him. He understood when I smiled and darkened my eyes.

"Just drive, Stacy'll give you directions to where she sees fit." She ordered. As we got into his car, some students tried coming up to her to ask her questions but were quickly discouraged when she glared at the first to come forth. Rei sighed before closing her eyes and drifting off. I gave Josh directions to an empty lot Josh, our brother and I would go to when we were younger. It was our hideaway spot away from the world where we could just sit and talk and look around without a care in the world. Rei woke up in a daze. It was a massive grassy lot that was left abandoned, it was mostly flat and barren, a perfect spot for picnics or sparring. We got out of the car and walked to the centre of the lot, or what we thought it was at least.
