As Logan looked at me it felt like everything around us was fading away. It was just me and him. I was standing there rigidly in place tugging at his shirt and he had this soft expression on his face that had my heart beating at an abnormal rate. His fingers brushed lightly against my hand sending a jolt of electricity right down my spine.
This was a dream.
I was having a dream.
I blinked a few times staring deep into his lively hazel eyes. I was lost under the beautiful sight.
Then the next band took stage with their loud chaotic music and brought me back to the now. The volume of the room was cranked up higher than before, for a few seconds Logan turned his attention to the stage and I seized the opportunity to make a swift getaway. I took my first step away from him and suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder pulling me back. I turned back to find myself face to face with him once more.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I um... I," I stammered. "I'm sorry about that."
He bit the corner of his lower lip and I swore at that very moment my heart skipped a beat. What was he doing to me? It was impossible for me to stand so close to him without swooning. I couldn't bear it, I had to go.
"Um," I took a step back, "I have to um... go now," I pointed behind me as if something was waiting for me. "So um see you around."
"Yeah, see ya."
That's all he could say? Every conversation we've had all ended the same exact way. The devious little voice in the back of my head told me to turn back and resume the conversation with him but I ignored it and kept walking. If he wanted to talk to me, he would. It all boiled down to him really, he's the guy and guys are less afraid than girls. If he saw that I was having difficulty to carry on a conversation with him, why couldn't he make it easier on me? Why couldn't he ask me to stay next to him and watch the rest of the show together? Why couldn't he have said something else to me besides 'see ya', But then again he doesn't want me so why would he have said any of those things.
I didn't really know where I was going as I weaved through the crowed. I was not going back to the table to Margo. Quinn was probably there and she was the last person I wanted to see after that stunt she pulled. So I decided to head to the bathroom to calm myself down before I could look for Quinn.
The bathroom was located at the end of a small hallway, away from all the raucous. I opened the door to find Chloe standing in front of the mirror adoring herself. I really couldn't catch a break. The door closed behind me but I didn't move so the knob hit my butt a little. She looked up at me with a half crooked smirk then went back to the mirror. There were only two stalls in this bathroom and they didn't look occupied which meant that she was alone. I wondered where the rest of her posse was.
I stared at her long and hard with anger seething through me. She didn't seem bothered by my presence. Memories of what happened the last time we were in a bathroom came flooding back to me. Although this time she was alone and seemed quite innocuous, I wouldn't put it past her not to try anything. Chloe was a totally different person now, completely foreign to me.
I took a deep breath thinking of what my next move should be. I sure as hell wasn't going to talk to her and I wasn't about to stand there and watch her play around with her hair either. I moved slowly away from the door making my way toward one of the stalls.
"You look good," she said. I stopped abruptly turning around to face her. She eyed me up and down with a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "A little cheap though but I guess you're, like, alternative now hanging out with Quinn Stewart and stuff." She chuckled. I didn't respond. She had no right to say I looked cheap seeing how she was wearing the tightest dress in the world__ I didn't know how she managed to breathe in it.
