They say the calm before the storm was a peaceful and quiet time just before a period of great activity or trouble. I wouldn’t exactly say Logan and I had peace and quiet before the storm, there was tears, yelling and accusations but what we shared was beautiful and real.

It all felt so nice, too nice I might add, I knew it had to come to an end.

Logan left me standing in the balcony in the cold promising he’d come right back. I believed him and trusted him. I had no doubt he was coming back, he had this brilliant grin on his face after he kissed me that confirmed that he did love me. He hadn’t said the words yet but I knew, I could tell. I knew he wanted to tell me but he also wanted to do right by me and do the right thing. He was going to end things with Lulu once and for all.

The shit hit the fan as soon as he left. I didn’t even have time to relish in the moment. I was holding on to the railings on the balcony staring up at the starless night when I heard her voice.

“Whore.”

I turned around and there they were, the four of them standing in front of me. They were all wearing the same style of dresses, short, skimpy with too much cleavage__ well all except for Chloe. She was wearing a pale lilac floor length draped gown that fit her perfectly. She looked absolutely gorgeous in it; she also looked uncomfortable, like she didn’t want to partake in whatever Lulu had planned for me. I could see the anguish washing over her face.

“You think you can just steal my boyfriend.” She was approaching me, leering. The other girls were moving too, slowly and in sync. There were circling me. I felt a cold shill running down my spine, my worst fear was coming true. I was greatly outnumbered and there was nothing I could do but stand there. Suddenly, the first day of school incident flashed through my brain. This was looking a lot like it.

“Answer me, bitch!” Lulu demanded.

Perhaps this wasn’t the best time for me to respond. If I had kept my mouth shut and acted completely helpless maybe, just maybe I would have walked out the situation unscathed but I was not going to let Lulu disrespect me by talking to me any kind of way she felt was right. I had enough.

“He doesn’t want you.” I said loudly with enough spite to sting. “He never wanted you, Lulu. You were nothing to him; he just wanted something to past the time.”

Lulu looked absolutely enraged. She stepped in front of me, my heartbeat spiked up. I could see the monstrous look on her face, cold blue eyes. It was truly a horrifying sight. She held my gaze long enough for me know what was coming next. Instead of backing away I kept my stance. I was scared but I wasn’t going to punk out. This girl has put her hands on me, said the vilest things about me and almost took Logan away from me. How much was I going to take from this girl?

“What the fuck did you just say to me, bitch?” she was right in my face. Instead of responding back I slapped her. It was one of those quick slaps that left a ring in your ear. A series of gasps erupted from the other girls and Lulu looked taken aback. I loved that look on her face, that surprised look that said she didn’t think I had it in me. I balled my hands into a fist, prepared to punch her this time but she started laughing.

“Is that the best you can do?” she said then punched me in the face so hard it sent me staggering backwards. I hit the railing then I fell straight onto the cold cement floor. I wasn’t completely unconscious but I wasn’t exactly there either. I could hear Chloe screaming and crying, asking Lulu why she did it. Her hysteria surprised me.

“The bitch had it coming.” She answered; there was no sign of remorse in her tone. “You had it coming, bitch.” She addressed me, relishing every moment of my suffering.
