"I know it's been awhile since our last class." Daniel speaks to his students on their first day back at the dojo. "After the fight at the school, I wasn't sure Miyagi-Do should stay open. But things have gotten worse since we shut down. That's why we're back. The only way to stop Cobra Kai is if we all work together. But always remember, the reason we learn karate is-"

"Excuse me?" a voice interrupts.

Everyone's heads turn to see a teenage boy. "Can I help you?" Daniel asks him.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. I was just wondering if I could sign up for a class?"

"Of course." Daniel smiles. "Come on over, you need to hear this too. Once I'm done talking we'll get you started."

"Okay, thanks." he awkwardly joins the group as Daniel starts talking again.

"Always remember, the reason we learn karate is for balance and self defense. But now is the time to also show forgiveness and compassion." Daniel begins. "Mr. Miyagi used to say if you're looking for revenge, you could start by digging two graves. If you have hate in your heart, then you've already lost. I know it's not always easy, but you have to do whatever you can. Do I make myself clear?

"Yes Sensei!" the students shout in unison, slightly startling the new boy.

The students bow to Daniel, and he dismisses them to start warm-ups while he goes over to the new student.

"I'm Mr. LaRusso." Daniel holds his hand out. "And you are?"

"Jonas Golshan." he shakes Daniel's hand.
