After class, Violet grabs Robby and Jonas each by an arm and pulls them over to her car.

"Okay, what's the problem with you two?" Violet crosses her arms. "Or do I even have to ask?"

"Probably not." Jonas admits guiltily.

"He started it, I didn't even do anything!" Robby says.

"I was getting to that!" Jonas raises his voice. "Anyway, I was just trying to look out for you and kind of acted like an asshole in the process."

"Thank you, but you know I can look out for myself." Violet says. "You're both special to me and I need you to get along."

"I know, I'm sorry." Jonas says. "I'm sorry, Robby."

Robby looks over at him. "Thanks."

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow, Jonas." Violet gives him a hug. "Let's go, Robby."

Violet and Robby end up at a diner, and she notices he's a little quiet.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Violet asks in-between bites of her burger. "You're kind of quiet."

"Nothing." Robby shrugs. "I'm just eating."

"Come on, I know you." Violet insists. "Is it about Jonas?"

Robby clenches his jaw and looks down, and that's all Violet needs to see.

"Listen, he really is a good guy. He just didn't give a first impression." Violet says. "He's become one of my best friends the past few months."

"I'm sure he is." Robby mutters.

Violet's mouth opens in shock, which turns into a smile. "Are you...jealous?"

"No." Robby lies. "I don't have a reason to be."

"You're right, you really don't." Violet takes a bite of a fry. "Jonas and I are just friends and that's all we'll ever be."

It's silent for a moment until Violet speaks again. "Do you remember coming here on our first date?

"Of course I do." Robby says, wondering where she's going with this.

"Can you believe that was a year and a half ago?" Violet asks, laughing a little. "It feels like ages ago but it also feels like yesterday."
