Five years had passed since Pedro's tragic death. Alma's heart remained heavy with grief, but the love and needs of her children gave her the strength to move forward. Standing with her children in front of four glowing, magical doors, she couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead.
"Mama, what is this?" Mia asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"I don't know, Mia," Alma replied softly, "but I hope these will become your new rooms. Now, place your hands on the doors."
The children exchanged glances, nervous but excited. One by one, they approached the doors and pressed their palms against the warm surfaces. A moment later, they opened their eyes to see their own pictures magically appear on each door.
Mia's door showed an image of her older, more confident self. The children opened their doors to reveal wondrous rooms: Mia's was filled with colorful fabrics, a sewing kit, and sketches of intricate clothing designs. Bruno's room had vast expanses of sand and plenty of open space. Pepa's was filled with clouds and a bright, sunlit sky. Julieta's room was simpler, adorned with paintings of food and cozy furnishings.
"Mama, what does this mean?" Pepa asked, bewildered.
"It means you each have been gifted with a unique talent," Alma said, smiling warmly at Mia.
Mia, inspired by the vibrant materials in her room, quickly fashioned a beautiful pink dress. Her family watched in awe as she worked with astonishing speed and skill.
"Mama, look! I made a dress!" Mia exclaimed, holding up her creation.
"And it's beautiful, just like you," Alma said, pride shining in her eyes. "One day, you will make the village very proud with this gift."
"Maybe I can start my own store one day," Mia mused.
"And I will make sure that happens," Alma promised, pulling her children into a warm embrace.

Three months later
Three months had passed since the children discovered their powers. Julieta could heal with her cooking, Pepa could control the weather with her emotions, Bruno could glimpse the future, and Mia could create anything in the blink of an eye. Alma doted on Mia, marveling at her talent, which didn't go unnoticed by the other children. Bruno and Pepa were content as long as their mother loved them, but Julieta felt a pang of jealousy.
One stormy night in Encanto, Mia was jolted awake by a terrifying nightmare. She saw a man drowning in a river, a woman's anguished screams, and the cries of babies. As thunder cracked outside, she screamed.
Alma rushed into the room, gathering Mia into her arms. "What's wrong, mi flor perfecta?" she asked, holding her trembling daughter.
"Mama, I had a nightmare," Mia sobbed.
"What was it about?" Alma asked gently.
"A man died in a river, and I heard a woman screaming and babies crying," Mia explained, shivering with fear.
Alma's face paled. "Are you sure?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
