One Week Girlfriend...

Chapter 23

*Rashmi Pov*

"Here!" I turned away from the window hearing Rohan's voice and saw him passing Karthik's mobile back to him.

"What? I already hold it for longer and he will kill me if I really don't give him even today. I was supposed to give yesterday as a bargain for pictures remember?" he said, looking at me when I glared at him.

"You could have returned it after we reach Kanpur." I mumbled, shaking my head and turned to see Karthik already switching on his mobile and is scrolling down with a blank expression.

He was really happy during this whole week and what if he gets upset again by reading all that. I can't even say that he shouldn't read, but I don't want him to feel bad.

"He will be fine." Rohan assured me when I continued to stare behind.

"I shouldn't have changed my places." I mumbled, turning to look at Rohan who is smirking at me.

"What? Chitra was kind of curious about yesterday thing and I wanted them to have some time before we return." I explained but he just shook his head.

"And why are you so sure that he will be fine?" I asked frowning.

"I am not completely confident, but he will not be as upset as he would have been if he had gone through them last week itself." He explained but I turned to stare at him again before looking outside.

Until we reached the airport, I kept on shifting my stare from Karthik to outside even though Rohan kept on stopping me along with others. And why is he checking so many posts? He should have kept it aside long back, but he is still looking into his phone without saying a single word.

Even when we were getting our luggage checked and while waiting for our flight, he looked so distant that I didn't know how to approach him at all and stayed silent.

Urgh! This is all because of Rohan only. Why did he pass the phone today itself, where I can see? Now, until I know how he is taking it, I can't keep quiet but I don't want to pressure him to say anything too.

"Will you sit with us here too?" Rohan asked, gesturing the standard seats in the middle as its three seater.

"Can I sit with Rohan and Preetha?" Chitra asked looking at me.

"Sure!" I immediately replied, feeling relieved that I can now sit beside Karthik and ask him about this somehow during the journey.

I sat between Karthik and Kalyan while Chitra sat with them and I kind of know why she wants to do that. Until Preetha tells her that girl's names, she will not be left alone.

"Seems like your girlfriend is too curious about your ex-crush." I whispered, turning towards Kalyan when the flight took off and I can hear Chitra and Preetha whispering.

"Yeah!" he mumbled awkwardly.

"If she gets to know and I know she will soon, then you need to tell me too. Otherwise, only Mehrin and I will be the ones to not know." I smiled looking at him.

"Are you sure she will know for sure?" he asked and I nodded, knowing well how curious she can get and how stubborn she is in these matters.

"Why are you so worried? Anyway, it is your Ex-crush and not present. Why will she be upset if she even knows?" I asked looking at him.

"Leave him alone, Rashmi. His girlfriend is enough to kill him with her questions." Karthik said and I immediately turned towards him smiling, feeling relieved to hear his normal tone.

"Then can I ask questions about you?" I asked, still smiling and he sighed nodding.

"How are you feeling?" I finally asked and he just smiled at me.
