The Doctor:
They were keeping a secret from me. Clara and Ellie knew something that I didn't and I wanted to know what it was. "Sibby, are you handling this?"
"Yes, Brother." They replied, walking around the console with Clara in tow, long dark hair pulled up in a tight braid. But with a different scrunchie to one I had seen before, and I knew they hadn't bought any new ones. "So, you said-"
"I know what I said." She interrupted. "I was the one who said it."
There was a look in Ellody's crimson eyes that I didn't recognise. "You said she was looking at you funny."
Clara tried to deny this. "I was tired, overwrought. I didn't mean it. It's an appliance. It does a job."
Uh, don't talk about Sexy like that. "It's a pretty cool appliance. We're not talking about a cheese grater here."
"You two are not getting me to talk to your ship." Uh, we talked to her all the time, what exactly was the problem here? "That's properly bonkers." I started to soothe the console, just in case she offended her. "You're like one of those guys who can't go out with a girl unless his mother approves."
Ellie shooed me away and began pulling levers. "It is important for us both to have you and Idris getting along."
"Now you're creeping me out too, Crimson."
They just guided her to the console, in dark green gloves and a thick denim jacket to cover all their skin. "Take the controls. I have simplified them for now, back to how they should be for the Doctor." Hey! "This will help, I promise."
So she got a basic TARDIS lesson as I sat and watched from the side line with Divinity, my old lady house mate contently purring in my arms. Until all the power went out the moment Clara pulled a lever. "What have I done?"
"Interesting."
"Sibby?"
"Ellie?"
A red eyed glance up to us, then the console again. "All the electrical impulses are jammed. I cannot get the shields back up. Idris is completely vulnerable." As were you and LizBeth, Ellie.
Clara wanted no blame. "I swear, I just touched it."
I gave her Divvy and started to help Ellie on the controls, getting a big bang as I pulled a breaker back up. "Magnetic hobble field. We're flying right into it."
"Clara, stay by me." Ellie told her, reaching a hand out. "Keep a tight hold of that Familiar."
They huddled close as we shook violently. "Please tell me there's a button you can press to fix this."
Oh, I wished there was. "Oh, yes. Big friend button."
"He is lying, it is his way of preventing unnecessary panicking."
Something rolled along the floor, Clara going to pick it up but something else happened and everything turned black with an explosive bang.
When I came round again, I was somehow outside the box, no sign of Ellody, Clara or Divinity. But a couple of blokes, all muttering to each other, so I went over as they hadn't seen me yet. "It's rude to whisper. Hi. I'm the Doctor. And you are?"
They just stared at me, so I read the names on their uniforms. "Er, Van Baalen and Van Baalen. Van Baalan and Van Baalan. That's going to get confusing later."
"We found you drifting."
"Yeah, your ship was junked up pretty bad."
Couldn't even admit fault, I hoped you had good insurance. "What broke my ship was a magna-grab." Then passed slight of hand with flying colours. "Found this remote in your pocket. Eh? What are the chances? Outlawed in most galaxies, this little beastie can disable whole vessels unless you have shield oscillators, which Ellody turned off so that Clara could fly, damn it." Hang on. Hang on, I didn't have them outside the box. "Clara, Ellody and Divinity. Where are they? Girl, about so high. Feisty, holding Divvy the cat. Person, huge, muscular, red eyes and literally cannot give a damn. They're still on board."
