Takes place when episode 1 takes place, Lily is now 18. (Feels weird using my own name in third person but fuck it)

"Time of death: 12:46" Lily said as the patient on the OR table continued to flatline.

"Dammit!" She yelled, storming out of the room and stripping herself of her gloves and mask. Her pager went off again, telling her to go to the front of the hospital.

'Hopefully something good comes in' she thought, walking to the front desk. There was no one who needed dire attention. Just the families of other patients.

"Uuuh...Dr. Thaldycon..? I uhh... threw up.. again." A familiar voice said timidly.

"Has this been going on for more than 2 hours?" She asked.

"No, I threw up in my flight simulation and how my teammates are mad and-"

"Hunk, I am a surgeon, not a therapist." She said.

"Well, I always see you alone at the cafeteria and I thought you could use a friend" Hunk said.

"So you pity me?"

"Oh! No I don't pity you" He said quickly.

"I don't need more people in my life. They disappoint me." Lily said dully, walking off.

*Time skip to that night*

"Oh hey," Keith said, a hint of surprise in his voice when Lily walked into the little house, "Are you not on call tonight?"

"No. However I just came out of an unsuccessful 17 hour surgery." Lily grumbled, pulling a hoodie on.

"So, did you find anything about that mysterious energy you were talking about?" She asked.

"I visited the cave while you were still working and I found these.. lion carvings..?" He said, handing her a few photographs.

"Huh... weird..." she said, looking closely. The two continued to talk about the weird carvings, the stuff that happened during the day, (and how annoying Lance is). After a while, the conversation switched to the failed Kerberos mission.

"Are the higher ups ever going to do anything about it?" Lily asked, chewing on one of her hoodie strings.

"There's not much they can do, but I have the same thoughts as well." Keith replied.

"..I don't think it was a pilot error." As soon as Lily said that, there was a loud whooshing sound coming from outside. She ran outside and saw an unidentified object plummeting from the sky. From far away, it looked like a meteor. However, Keith handed her a telescope and she discovered that it was a ship. And it wasn't one of the Garrison's.

"What the hell?!" She exclaimed.

"Get on the hover bike, we got to go see what is in that ship." Keith hollered. She ran to him and got onto the hover bike.

"Are we seriously doing this?" She asked as they flew closer to the ship.

"Yep. And we're gonna need a distraction. I put some explosives in my bag and I need you to-"

"Oh no. No no no no. Keith, that is treason. I am the head of general surgery, I can't commit treason!" She said, tighten her hold on him as he accelerated the vehicle.

"You have to or we'll both be arrested if we're caught." He replied.

"Oooooh god...," Lily sighed, before abruptly leaning to whisper in Keith's ear, "you hear that, Keith?"

"Hear what?"

"The sound of my medical license and my freedom...floating away.." She said.

"Don't worry, you're not gonna ruin your career. If you're thrown in prison, I'll bail you out." He said.

"With what money?!" She retorted

"Oh... righttt.." Keith replied, realizing he's broke as shit. The two looked ahead and saw a Garrison tent not too far ahead. Keith parked the hover bike behind a large Boulder and they both got out.

"I hate you right now.." Lily sighed, pulling her hood up and tightening the strings, in some hope of hiding her identity. She threw a few of the explosives near the tent to get the Garrison soldiers' attention.  She hid behind a rock and watched as all of the garrison vehicles rolled out to check what those explosions were.

'Pfft. Idiots.' She laughed internally, following Keith into the tent. There, they saw Takashi Shirogane himself, strapped to a table. Lily checked his vital signs before doing anything else. She then looked at Keith, who looked back at her. They nodded to each other before taking out their knives and cutting Shiro's restraints loose. Keith lugged Shiro off the medical table.

"Nope. No. No you don't. I'm saving Shiro" another person said, approaching them.

"Who are you?" Keith asked. Lily took a few steps forward, ready to spill blood, her knife transforming into a sword.

"Whoa whoa whoa! Call off your attack dog! The name's Lance! We were in the same class at the garrison!" Lance explained hurriedly.

"Ain't you that cargo pilot?" Lily asked, lowering her weapon.

"Not anymore. Thanks to Keith washing out, I'm fighter class now." Lance replied. Lily's head perked up at the sound of vehicles. She went outside the tent, where Hunk and a short person in green were keeping a lookout, to see multiple garrison Jeep's speeding towards their location.

"Guys we don't have time for this. Get Shiro on the hover bike now!" She yelled urgently, everyone running to the boulder where the vehicle was parked.

"Mind if we catch a ride with you?" Hunk asked, climbing onto the hover bike, making it fall to one side.

"Is this thing big enough to carry all of us?" The short person asked.

"No. It's meant for two people." Keith said plainly as he settled himself into the drivers seat. Lily sat behind him, her arms wrapped firmly around his torso. He powered on the hover bike and took off.

"Hey, we did all fit!" Hunk said.

"Big man, lean left!" Keith hollered. Hunk leaned left, causing the bike to veer harshly in that direction. Coincidentally, that also caused two of the garrison Jeeps to collide with each other.

"Aww Mr. Harris just wiped out professor Montgomery- oh never mind, he's fine." Hunk said.

"Lean left!" Hunk leaned left, which helped Keith steer the hover bike onto a narrow path the Jeeps couldn't get to.

"Guys... is that a cliff up ahead?" Hunk asked.

"Oh hell no. Keith-" Lily said frantically, tightening her hold on him.

"Yep." Keith replied.

"Keith Kogane I swear to god-" Lily yelled before they went over the edge.

"What are you doing?" You're gonna kill us all!" Lance yelled.

"Just shut up and trust me!" Keith said. Lily closed her eyes tightly, bracing for impact. However, before they hit the ground, he pulled the hover bike up and accelerated forward. She looked up slowly to see that everyone was still alive and semi-well.

"YOU. ARE SO DEAD WHEN WE GET HOME!"
