Part 5: First Battle, Kinda Nervous

Istg if I go back and find I spelled my insert's name wrong, I'm jumping into a pool of lava /hj
Also I had 2 AP exams back to back today and I may or may not have failed :P
Guess I'll know in July.

"You'll need to retrieve the Red Lion from Sendak's ship." Allura told Keith.

"That's a pretty big ship. How are we gonna know where the Red Lion is?" Keith asked.

"It's not a matter of we, it's a matter of you." Lily told him.

"Pidge is right. Once we get you in, you'll be able to feel it's presence and track you down." Hunk said.

"Yeah. You know how you felt that crazy energy while we were in the desert?" Lance chimed in.

"Yeah. You made fun of him for that." Lily replied.

"And I'm proud of that. But turns out it's exactly like that mumbo jumbo."

"Keith, remember, the Red Lion is extremely temperamental. You'll have to earn its respect." Allura reminded him. He nodded.

"Alright. Here's our plan of attack." Shiro started.

*during the attack*

Hunk and Lance were acting like decoys, pretending to give their lions up. Pidge and Lily used their lions to sneak onto one of the battleship's few blind spots. Pidge, Keith, Shiro and Lily snuck onto the ship and began their search for the Red Lion. Shiro stopped in the middle of the hallway and seemed to space out for a minute.

"I-I've been here before. After I was taken by the galra cruiser off Kerberos, they brought us here." he said.

"So, that means your other crew members, they might be held captive here. We have to rescue them!" Pidge exclaimed.

"Pidge, we don't have time. We have to get the Red Lion and get back to Arus." Shiro replied.

"But we can't just leave prisoners here!"

"Look, no one understands that more than me, but in war, we have to make hard choices. Now let's get moving." Shiro replied firmly.

"No!" Pidge yelled, surprising Lily and Keith.

"Commander Holt is my father. He and my brother were the ones on the Kerberos mission with you." He said.

"Commander Holt is your father?" Lily replied.

"Yes. I've been searching everywhere for him and my brother and I'm not going to give up when I'm this close. I won't!" Pidge replied.

"Lily and I are coming with you." Shiro said.

"What?" Keith said.

"I remember where the prisoners were held. Keith, you go find the Red Lion." Shiro ordered.

"By myself?"

"Change in plans. You'll be fine, Keith. And in case anything goes wrong.. or you don't make it," Lily said, before hugging Keith, "you're my person.. you'll always be my person." Keith hugged her tightly. They pulled away, startled when one of the doors opened.

"Run!" Shiro said urgently, grabbing Pidge and Lily and running in the opposite direction Keith was. The trio kept running until they were spotted by a drone. Lily was quick to swat it out of the air.

"That thing saw us. We should get out of here." Shiro said.

"Wait. I think this thing might come in handy." Pidge said, fiddling with the drone's wires until the lights turned green.

"And it's working for us! I'm gonna call you Rover. Follow us!" He said to his little robot friend. The trio turned a corner, which led to a metal door. The robot fired a laser, which unlocked the door to reveal several alien prisoners huddled against the wall.
