It is nighttime. An hour before Brian's party, Sammie is getting ready at her house, trying to decide what outfit to wear.
Sammie: No....no....no, that's not it.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the door as Sammie's Dad, Scott, a Caucasian-American man in his late 40s, walks in.
Scott: Hey, there's my little tiger! How was your first day of school? Was it grreeat?
Sammie rolls her eyes and sighs.
Sammie: Daaaaad! Just because you are my dad, doesn't it mean you have to tell Dad jokes.
Scott: Sure it does. It's in my contact, along with showing how much I love my daughter!
Sammie: I'm not even sure if that was a joke or not....
Sammie shrugs.
Scott: So....What's on tap tonight? Pizza and TV? Or even TV and Pizza?
Sammie: Actually, Dad, I'm headed to a party.
Scott raises his eyebrow.
Scott: On a school night?
Sammie: Unfortunately.
Scott: I'm impressed, Sammie. It's your first day and you've already made new friends.
Sammie: Wait hold up! You're not going to give the usual speech about underage drinking or unexpected pregnancy?
Scott: Nah. You're a good kid. I trust you. Just don't stay out too late, okay?
Sammie gives her Dad a hug.
Sammie: Thanks, Dad. Now, with all due respect, let me figure out what I'm going to wear.
Scott: Sounds like that's my cue to go work on my model trains. If you need me, I'll be in garage trying not to electrocute myself.
As Scott leaves the room, Sammie's phone buzzes as she examines it to see a text from Emma.
"Hey Sammie. It's Emma. Just pulled up to your house."
Sammie: Oh Good, Emma's here. I'd better change....
Sammie turns to the closet to look through her options.
Sammie: Everyone's going to be at this party. If there was ever a time to dress impress, this is it.
Sammie is decided to keep the cool for school outfit.
Sammie: I have to keep this outfit. I don't mind Emma is keep waiting for me.
Outside, Emma plays on her phone in her car, before Sammie walks outside her house and knocks the glass window. Emma perks up and smiles, before Emma unlocks her car doors, allowing Sammie to enter Emma's car.
Emma: Hey, Sammie! Did you bring your swimsuit?
Sammie: Yeah, I'm actually wearing it underneath.
Emma: Me too! I am glad that you came.
Sammie: Awwwwww Same! I figured if we're going to this party, I may as well do it in style. So....you ready?
Emma (unsure): Yeah....I think....
Sammie: You think?
Emma: It's just-I'm a little nervous. That's all.
Sammie: How come, Emma?
Emma: Caleb's probably going to be there. Not to mention, I'm crashing this party.
Sammie: Emma, I didn't get invited either, remember? We're in the same boat. I'll be your side the entire time we're at this party.
