I sit down in front of him and he shoots up from looking at his lap, where I expect his phone was. I smile at him and he just looks at me then back doe to his lap. He had already eaten by the looks of it, a Big Mac and a medium fry. Along with a sweet tea.

I eat my McChicken in silence and quickly scarf it down. I finish off my fries and drink my sweet tea as Dylan looks up.

"I see you like sweet tea." He says with a small voice.

"Yep. Favorite drink here." I say, happy that he spoke up.

"Same." He says shyly. I nod at him and he lets a small small smile show at the end of his lips, which made me smile even wider.

"So. Do you live in Baton Rouge?" I ask. He nods in agreement.

"Same. Been there all my life." I say, I hope that we can at least talk longer than two minutes.

"Me too. What school do you go to?" He asks me raising an eyebrow.

"BR high." I say.

"Oh me too!" His face lights up, I blush at the sudden change in attitude.

"How come I've never seen you?" I ask him. His face falls again.

"Well I choose not to get close to people or anything. My hoodie is always on and I don't talk to anyone except my one friend Sam. So that's probably why." He laughs sarcastically. I feel really bad for him.

"I have been bullied my whole time as a freshman and I'm hoping it stops since I'll be a sophomore. But I doubt it'll stop. I don't talk much either." I say blushing about how open I was. He gives me a sympathetic look.

"Well I don't see how your bullied. Your a nice person." He gives that small smile again. I'm really liking this new Dylan.

"Then maybe we can be friends then." I say hoping he'll say yes.

"I'd advise you don't." He said looking down at the table. I frown, taking in the somewhat hurtful response.

"But why?" I ask making sure I don't sound really upset.

"It's better off if I don't have friends here. I don't want to hurt you or anything." He said in almost a whisper.

Hurt me?

Why would he hurt me? Things race through my mind as we stay silent. He has been actually nice. I don't think he'd actually hurt me. What did he really mean?

"What do you mean?" I ask still a bit frazzled from the answer.

He takes a moment to answer. Then opens his mouth.

"Just. Trust me. Acquaintance is pushing it. I can't have this." He says.

"Have what?" My eyebrows raise in curiosity.

"Feelings."
