Today was the school dance and I had to admit I was pretty curious about how it was going to go. Even though I thought we were all going solo, Namjoon ended up telling us he had invited Jiu, a third-year student to the dance.
Yoongi and I decided we would go together and that he would be coming for me at seven thirty. I put on a white shirt on top of my black pants and added a black blazer. I put on some necklaces and rings as well. To give the outfit a pop of color, I wrapped a flowery scarf like thingy around my neck. I was afraid to go, I knew many of my friends would be playing tonight and I couldn't help but worry for them. What if something went wrong in their performance??

I shook my head and went to do my make up. I decided to keep it light and not style my hair. I went down to the kitchen and saw my mom making a grilled cheese sandwich.
"They never give anything to eat at those dances. Here, have a sandwich." She kissed my head and placed the plate in front of me. "I made one for Yoongi as well, when does he get here?"
"Any minute now" My mom had always had a kind heart and had adopted Namjoon and Yoongi as her own sons a long time ago. I finished my sandwich right around the time the bell rang and the door opened.
"I'm here!" I hear Yoongi say. I tell him that we're in the kitchen and soon enough his white head appeared. Since the suit wasn't a requirement, Yoongi had opted for a whole white look. I had to admit, he looked incredible tonight.

"Sit down, sweetheart. I made you something to eat" My mom grabbed his by the wrist and made him sit down. I laughed to myself, mom was the only person on earth to call Yoongi sweetheart.
"Thank you, Mrs. Kim" He smiled and ate the sandwich as I kept on going on and on about my fears about tonight.
Once he was done eating, we went to my room and brushed our teeth once more. We stayed there a bit more when we saw they had uploaded a new episode of a show we both liked. By the time we were ready to go, it was already eight-fifteen.
"Come on, you two." My mom rushed us towards the door and practically put on our coats for us. "Do you have everything you need? Do you have cash? Just in case?"
"Yes, mom. We're fine" I say.
"Who's the designated driver for today??"
"Mom, it's a school dance. I doubt the punch will even have rum" I chuckle but stop when I see the face she made. "I am, so don't worry. We'll be fine" I hug her and finish putting on my shoes.
"Namjoon will be there Mrs. Kim. You know he'll never let anything happen" Yoongi added.
Eventually my mom calmed down and hugged us both before we left the house. We got into the car and Yoongi drove off towards our school. The engine was shut off and we could instantly hear the music blasting from the gymnasium.
"I don't want to go inside" Yoongi groaned.
"I'm having mixed feelings." I add. We look at each other and sigh before opening the door. The student decorating committee had done an incredible job at changing the gymnasium. It looked nothing like it did before. The twinkle lights and hanging beige curtains gave it a very elegant yet cozy look.
We walked further inside and saw a few of our friends. Mark and Taeyong came up to us and we started talking about tonight schedule. Apparently Doyoung, Sangyeong and Jacob would open. Taeyong's group and Jimin and Daniel's duo would be later during the night and Jungkook and Yuqi's duo would be opening the "slow" sequence of the night.
"So, who did you guys bring tonight?" I picked up a red cup, filled it with punch and handed it to Yoongi.
"I brought Seulgi and Mark came with his boyfriend" Taeyong also filled in a cup he previously had in his hands.
"She's a fourth year as well, right?" If I remembered correctly, Seulgi was a fourth year student who participated in a dance club we used to have. I think that's where she and Taeyong had met and gotten close.
"That's right. Actually, I kind of left her stranded, I should get back. She keeps telling me not to stress but I can't help myself"
"You're all going to be great, don't worry" It felt kind of weird to cheer up Lee Taeyong. He was usually so sure of himself.
When he left, I noticed neither Mark nor Yoongi were with me. Looking around, I quickly found Mark sitting at a table with Haechan but no Yoongi. I took a quick tour of the local, greeting friends left and right until I eventually caught a glimpse of my friend talking next to a light-haired brunette who must've been about an inch shorter than him.
"Why is he talking to Jimin?" I ask to myself.
I thought about going over there but eventually I settled for going to find a table to sit down. In between students dancing, teacher's lurking and people who boycotted the event by sitting in the corners even though they still came, I saw Namjoon at a table, along with Miyeon, Soojin and Minnie I made my way over and sat down next to one of the girls.
"Taehyung, you're here!" Soojin pushed away a few things that were in front of me and helped me sit down.
"Me and Yoongi got here about fifteen minutes ago" I put down my drink and look around me.
"So, where is he?" One of them asked.
"I saw him talking with Jimin by the side of the gymnasium" I look at Namjoon when I said that and to no surprise, he immediately looked at me.
"That's weird. Do you know what they were talking about?"
"No idea. Maybe Jimin's nervous about tonight's performance?" I suggested.
"That doesn't sound like Jimin. He's always so confident about everything he does. That's what makes him so sexy and so popular" Miyeon chimed in.
"I guess" I chuckle, I didn't have much input on what she said. The truth about Jimin's popularity wasn't a topic I knew a lot about. To me, it remained a mystery.
