Life as a single woman is good.
I had become so consumed in the guilt that I felt towards Yahya that I had forgotten what it felt like to love myself. My life became difficult the moment that I decided to keep my teen pregnancy as it meant that I had to work hard to provide a life for my daughter which meant putting my dreams on hold.
The first couple of years were difficult as my father watched over her while I hustled hard to get us a place of our own as I did not believe that he had to deal with the consequences of my actions.
My life changed for the better and became simple once I was financially stable so introducing a man to my life only complicated things. I have been single longer than I have ever been with a man which sounds sad to most but I don't mind the casual flings on the side as long as it does not affect what I have built.
Becoming a single woman has allowed me to pour back into myself and it has been a joyous moment in time. That does not mean that my recent break up did not affect me but I have simply been enjoying life more knowing that there isn't a man wanting me to have his babies.
I still plan to move houses as I am ready for the next chapter in my life but I plan to remain single for a long while.
"You have literally been the OG boss mom for years and yet you keep it classy even when people try coming for you. The way you react to the trash that the media write makes me respect you so much more because you don't do the back and forth or getting into Twitter beefs." Amber Rose states as we sit down on a bench with our smoothies in hand. "I'm happy to see you still thriving."
"That's because I have nothing to prove, I'm not seeking anyone's validation." I shrug my shoulders. "I am very content with my life and knowing that I built this life alone puts me in a space where I will never allow anyone to dictate who I should be."
She nods her head in understanding, "Have you seen the recent pictures of Yahya?"
"Yup." I roll my eyes because my ex-boyfriend is trending on social media after being spotted looking miserable while heading to set. The whole thing appeared staged to me but I'm not mad at him for painting a story, I just do not like my name being dragged through the mud as a result of it.
"Then you know that everyone is coming for yo-"
I cut her off with a nod of the head, "I can't help that I am doing ok. I'm not going to go out of my way to appear sad to the general public when I'm not, I have never been the type to need a man in my life so being single right now is very freeing to me."
"I hear you and I feel you because same." Amber places her hand on my thigh. "That's what I admire about you."
"Amber." I bite down on my bottom lip as we stare into eachother's eyes. Dating women is not my cup of tea but there are a few women who have made me feel a type of way and Amber Rose is one of them.
