I'm now in the kitchen, cooking pancakes with Wanda while nat and yelena are watching us.
Suddenly, the door opened reveling pepper looking worried as hell.
« Oh my god you're alive » she almost screamed while cupping my cheeks. Well I guess someone told her about my ears.
« Yeah I am » i said laughing softly. I'm still really embarrassed because I almost called her mom but whatever I just had a plane crash so...
« Oh my god your leg » she gasped and I shrugged.
« Fortunately you can't hear what I hear » I sighed before flipping my pancakes.
« Oh my dear... I'm so sorry »
« It's okay. I'm fine » I said not wanting to talk more.
« And you yelena are you hurt? »
« Just a few cuts. Otherwise I'm fine thanks » She smiled softly. I love her smile. She has the cutest smile ever.
« So, Maria told me that you have some scans to do? » she asked, still speaking loudly. « Yeah to see if we don't have intern injuries and to see what will happen with my leg and ears »
« I'm sure it'll be okay. You don't have to worry »
« Well I'm worried. What if I can't hear again? I'm so scared to not be able to hear all of your voices normally again. And this ringing!! Ugh it's driving me crazy. I can't even hear my thoughts. The only moment I was able to sleep I was in yelena's arms!! I feel like I'm about to loose my mind mom- pepper. Pepper. Fuck what the hell is wrong with me?!? »
I feel two arms around me making me instantly calm down.
I didn't realized but I have tears streaming down my cheeks.
I know that it's Yelena because of her scent. She smells like vanilla and it's so relaxing.
I put my face in the crock of her neck and breath with her.
I really need to learn to handle my anxiety now that this ringing is gonna bother me for the rest of my life.
But with my family, my friends and mostly with Yelena I'm sure to be fine. But I know it's not going to be easy.
Yelena took my face between her hands and smiled at me softly « you okay? » I read her lips.
« Yeah thanks. I needed that. Now I'm scared to turn around and see my best friend, my sister and the woman I just called mom looking at us because I just freaked out in front of them and I'm embarrassed »
Before they could say something, the door opened again and Maria and carol entered the room.
« Thank god I love you two » I said relived that I won't have to face the 3 girls.
« Do you want pancakes? » I asked « of course » carol said sitting on the counter.
I hear Maria's voice but don't understand anything. I look at my sister for some help and she quickly understands what I need.
« She asked you to eat fast. Because of the scans » she spoke slowly and loudly for me to understand.
« Thanks »
We continued to eat before heading to the medical quarters. I'm really stressed but I'm with the people who makes me feel safe so I'll be fine.
When we arrived, Bruce and Maria did our scans and treated my leg.
Me and Yelena are now alone in a room waiting for the results of our scans.
« Is it a good time to talk about the kiss? » she asked with a teasing smirk. « Fine » I laughed.
« Okay I'll start » she said before taking a deep breath.
