I awoke the next day and rolled over out of my bed and onto the floor. I fell into a stack of novels and movies. Part of me regretted splitting the bed's space in half and replacing it with them.

I rose from the mess, picking up the nearest movie. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. One of the best. I placed the movie back in the pile, then got up out of the mess. As I got dressed, I heard a knock at the door.

Expecting it to be Jaxon, I told him to open the door. To my surprise a girl with blood red hair and eyes opened the door. Ugh. It was Akane.

She and I had history. But we broke up when she voiced her hatred for my torture techniques. I was a natural at it, but I guess I can thank my father for that.

"What do you want Akane?"

I saw her try her best to find something else to focus on besides by shirtlessness. She opened up her phone and began texting someone, as she started speaking. "Jax wants to see you for something, and I don't know what. He said to bring you to the courtyard."

"Fine. But you're not allowed to call him that."

"What, I can't call my boyfriend his nickname?" I hated that Jax had chosen Akane out of all people to be her girlfriend.

"No, you're not allowed to call my best friend s nickname that I gave him."

"I'll do what I want."

"And I'll react however I want to. Don't get mad if you wake up with frostbite."

Still failing to find a decent shirt, I pulled on my cloak. It was black, with silver lining on the hood and silver straps across the front. It closed from the waist to my collarbone, but opened at the waist and extended down to the floor, waving behind me as I walked, not unlike a trench coat. Unfortunately, my copious hair hindered me from using the hood, and the cloak's stealth capabilities.

However, it served its purpose for covering me as I made my way away from Akane and out to the open space where Jax would be waiting.

Now I'd have to deal with his shit.
