With a beat of our wings, we floated up to where Kira was laying. The flames that were over most of our body expanded until we were a mass of fire. It then split in two, and the two masses condensed into my body and Aisu's dragon form. I instantly ran to Kira's side, while Aisu stood guard against anyone else who might come.
"Kira! Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Kira had adopted her strong look again. We wouldn't be talking about what really happened for a while. At that moment Aisu thought to me There are men coming. An image came with the message, of four men dressed in white, two carrying large boxes.
Let them through. They're medics coming for Kira. Reluctantly, Aisu followed my order and backed away from the door. Eventually, he shrank back into his doglike form, and the medics ordered he and I out.
We walked through the building, having nothing to do but worry. Eventually, my mother came running down the hall in Kira's direction.
"Is Kira-"
"She's fine. No thanks to you." As our Oracle, Rozu had the gift of clairvoyance. She should've seen those things coming.
"I didn't know that there were enemies piggybacking on Rozu. If I had I would've-"
"If you had?! WELL YOU DIDN'T. KIRA ALMOST DIED BECAUSE OF YOU."
"Then she was lucky she has you. I understand if you hate me for keeping so much from you, but-"
"Save your breath. I'm not going to listen to any of your apologetic shit." I continued up to my own room, leaving the woman I used to call my mother behind.
