As instructed Klaus went towards the river to find his siblings. He ignored their questions about his whereabouts and told them about the new developments. "Where is Hayley" "She will be down here soon" "Did she get stuck somewhere, why is she not with you?? Getting tired of his sister's questions he said, " She will be here in a minute, she went to change her dress".

Everyone was shocked at his statement knowing that Hayley would not change his dress only if she needed to. They all knew she did not care much about her appearance.

"The only reason Hayley would change her dress is if she ripped it or someone else did" Kol eyed his older brother with a smirk. "Oh shut up Kol, you all know that Hayley and I do not have that kind of relationship"

"Sure you don't", they all said in chorus. Klaus grunted and waked away going towards the lake, he was irritated by his sibling for repeating the same narrative. He could not understand what they saw. As a young boy, he was quite the charmer and he never considered Hayley as one of his conquests.

Then he thought back to that one day. It was the day of the huge ball. All the girls were heavily decked at age fifteen since they were soon to be women. All of them looked gorgeous. Sudden Hayley walked in with her natural beauty radiating and very light but beautiful jewelry. He could not take his eyes off of her the whole night.

However, he never approached her for dance because their relationship as rivals did not allow him to. He just lurked around taking in her beauty.   Present him, remembered it and started to smile. He also found it ironic that she had the same effect after meeting her here again. Fortunately this time he could not control himself. He thought to himself has their relationship changed?

Before he could think more about it  Hayley had arrived. He went over to discuss Marcel. "As Nik must have told you, Charlie came back with news and it's not good. I think we should go and check the area to get a proper understanding"

They all nodded, thinking about how they should proceed. At the same time, the royals were wondering the same in the palace. "We obviously cannot tell them this because they will not agree," Mikael said stating the obvious. " I think we must just try to bring the couples close to each other. I think we should let them be in one room with each other for the night. All of them don't have a romantic history, so nothing will happen. Fortunately, it will ignite the possibility of it in their minds. Esther said.

Everyone agreed thinking it was brilliant. They decide to commence their plan today.

On the other end, the kids were in a serious discussion as to who should go. They would also need to find an excuse for the absence of one. After a moment Elijah spoke up "I think Hayley and Niklaus should go. You are skilled fighters and very resourceful. Nonetheless you need to be very careful and give us timely updates".

Both of them nodded and retreated to the castle to start planning. While going to the training room they saw the royals coming discreetly murmuring something about something with excitement. Both were confused as to what was happening but continued walking.

They had everything ready, all they needed was an alibi to get out of the castle. At that moment their parents called for them. Both were directed to a small room. Suddenly the door was shut and they were locked in. The same happened to the rest. Everyone locked in with their pair.

The room was small as per royal standards. In other words, it had one bed, a kitchen, and a bathroom. All had big windows except for Niklaus and Andrea's. Everyone knew that if a small opening is given they would gladly jump out of . They were always known to have no limits.

Frustrated after being trapped in a room, they decided to make the most of it and continue planning. After a while, they had nothing else to do and they were starting to get hungry. "I think I am going to go make something," Hayley said. "You know how to cook", Klaus was astonished at this new information. "Yes, my mom taught me how to cook" "The queen of France knows how to cook" "Yes, she does not like to depend on anyone" and, "I think I know somebody like that". Hayley smiled at that knowing what he was insinuating. "Caroline and your mother are alike"

The smile dropped and it was replaced by a scowl. She knew he was joking but it also irritated her, she punched him in the arm and said: "haha very funny". He laughed and followed her to the kitchen. "Weird how this fridge is stocked with loads of food" eyeing it wearily. "I supposed we will not starve to death but all of this seems like a set up" Klaus suggested. "I am going to make a spicy steak, think you can handle the spice?" Hayley asked with a smirk. "You know very well that my spice tolerance is pretty high, do u not remember the hot wings competition".

The whole group had sneaked into the town. They always liked to be there because it felt so homey and simple. Elijah and Rebecka were not too keen on going as they liked the more fancy things life had to offer. They still liked to meet their citizens and have information about their troubles. However, Klaus and Hayley had a lot of friends in this part of town and Kol would often tag along with them. Davina was still a child but as she grew older she went with her sister.

Once the town was hosting a hot wings competition and was participating after boasting about one would beat the other. They both ate like dogs but after the 100th wing Hayley was starting to give up. Her soft pink lips had turned a fiery red and she could not digest another wing. She comforted herself with a glass of milk while the croud was cheering for Klaus.

She propped herself up and congratulated him to which he just replied with a simple 'Thank you', surprising. "What no snide remark", "I think you have had enough heat for the day". She just shook her head playfully and walked away. Klaus stayed there for a bit thinking about the events that took place. It should have given him joy but he was rather confused. Hayley has never really lost to him. Most of the times there would be certain factors that would play in his favor which would lead to his victory. Like her being sick or some type of prejudice judgment.

This was the first time he earned himself a complete victory. Instead of celebrating it he was caught admiring her for the way she composed herself. Even though it was a small loss everyone knew how competitive she was. He was snapped out of his thoughts and brought into the real world with confused looking Haley. He just shook of his trance and said" All I remember is you loosing" with an innocent smile. She just glared at him and said whatever.

Dinner was ready and Klaus could not help but admire her cooking. It was just like her mother's but a bit more spicier. Just the way he liked it! He thanked he for dinner and laughed at her astonished look. "I was raised to be a gentleman" "How come I have never seen this side?" "We never really talked, there are just a few moments from out childhood where we were not competing against each other". They both laughed to that.

Now it was time to discuss their bed situation...
