The Sun hit Hayley's eyes with an intensity. She woke up and the events of the previous night hit her. She was married to a husband who did not trust her.

Frustrated with her current situation, she decided to focus on the good. Tomorrow was her coronation, something she had been working for since a young age.

Suddenly, she spotted her now mother-in-law telling Alice the maid to keep a dress inside. Hearing this, she fell into a frenzy.

It was evident that nothing had happened last night. Alice knew that was like the whole castle knowing that. She did not need rumors about such menial things.

Hayley quickly undressed herself and started to wake up Klaus. The new king woke up to the sight of his wife partially naked, with her undergarments still on.

His eyes widened, "What are you doing?", he questioned. At the same time, he hated the fact that he could not take his eyes off her. She on the other hand noticed nothing and explained the situation quickly.

"Look I know you hate me, but we do not need rumors. Can we get into the sheets and make it look like it happened? If we do not our sibling will question us, please Klaus", Hayley said with a tense tone.

"Fine, get in", Klaus said while removing his clothes. They both slipped in and Hayley opened her hair. Alice entered, while the two pretended to sleep.

The lavender scent on their pillows made them drowsy. Both fell asleep while Alice cleaned their room. Eventually, they entwined together and peacefully slept for most of the morning.

Rebekah knocked on their door a while later. Hayley grabbed a robe and greeted her. "You're that tired huh?", she asked with a teasing glint.

"Shut it, now goodbye I need to get ready"

"Don't forget to wake your husband up", she said running away.

Hayley just shook her head and tapped Klaus a few times but he was in a deep sleep. She stepped into the shower can contemplated on how she would convince Klaus of her innocence.

She was aware that she needed to be quick. Soon after Klaus awoke due to the constant knocking, upon opening, Esther stood there will a large jewelry box. "Good morning son, is Hayley still getting ready ?", to which he nodded.

"Great, please make her wear this. It is a family heirloom and will look lovely on her." In the box, there laid a stunning diamond necklace crafted in a delicate style. Klaus was sure that Hayley would not wear this, she had never been one for jewelry.

"I know that she would not choose such a fancy piece but please tell her that it would mean a lot to me. I wore it during my initial days as queen." At that moment, Hayley entered the room in her robe. "There you are dear, will you make your mother happy by wearing this?", Esther questioned with a hopeful expression.

"Of course, I once promised you that I would. After all, this necklace is very important to you", Hayley said with a smile. "Oh, you remember! Niklaus, Andrea was just thirteen years old when she saw this on my cupboard. I had expressed my desire on how I wanted her to wear it. All the women in my family had when they ascended the throne. You did not like it even then but you still agreed", Esther said remembering the moment fondly.

"Well, I have grown to love it. It has a very simplistic beauty to it, where it stands out but never overpowers. Moreover, it represents the confidence you had in me becoming queen !", Hayley said emotionally.

Klaus watched the whole scene and sensed raw emotion, he could tell that Hayley truly cared for his family. He just wished that the same would have applied to him. "Well, how can I not I always knew that you were going to be a Mikaelson", Esther said with a grin. Causing Klaus to cough, "I shall let you ladies chat now." Moving towards the bathroom to get ready for the brunch.

Once he was ready, he entered his bedroom to find his mother styling Hayley's hair. It was curled loosely, with she wearing a light blue dress. She looked heavenly, which led to Klaus admiring her. Esther coughed, "Ah Nicklaus please help Hayley with the necklace", she exited with a smirk.

He hesitated for a moment before and then started to place the necklace on her neck. Feeling everything, he maintained a passive face due to his mother's watchful eye. To cement the notion that they were a happy couple, he kissed her cheek and said, "You look beautiful."

His mother looked pleased and exited the room. A vibrant blush erupted on Hayley's cheeks. Klaus found it amusing and was going to tease, but at that moment he was reminded of the betrayal. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards him, "I did not know you were such a good actor Hayley."

Fury erupted within Hayley, she was done with this whole narrative. She grabbed him by the collar, "I have not kissed anyone but you, at the alter. I hold no affection for Jake, we were involved ages ago. Even then it never became anything pure, I have never even kissed him! For god's sake can you trust your wife little?"

"What can I do wife, you make it so hard", he said with malice and went away. Hayley punched the wall in anger and continued to get ready. Once she was done, they entered the brunch party together, like strangers.

Soon they were bombarded with relatives, congratulating them on their wedding. They graciously thanked them all. Friends and acquaintances also came forward. Jake was approaching, Klaus grabbed Hayley's waist and pulled her closer.

"If you can, try not to show any affection towards him", he said whispering into her ear. She replied, "There is none !" At that moment, their eyes were interlocked. It was evident that he still did not believe her but there was raw honesty in her eyes which could not go unnoticed.

Klaus closely observed their interaction and it felt quite mundane, like they had never felt anything for each other. Later, his wife was whisked away by the ladies. "You know their relationship was nothing right?", Davina said with an amusing tone.

After receiving a puzzled look she elaborated, "Hayley and Jake were only together for three days. With the sole reason that our aunts were always pestering Hayley about finding a guy. They decided to pursue a fake relationship after which they never saw each other before this whole debacle. During those days, I was always with them. They do not even have a friendship with each other. Hayley was too fiery for Jake, even as a friend. I noticed you grabbing her when he arrived", she said with a smirk.

Klaus just nodded and went ahead to grab a drink. Sat down on a small balcony wondering if he was wrong about what he had seen. The figure did not exactly look like Andrea either. He rubbed his forehead frustrated with his predicament, wanting to go to someone. Then he realized only the one he wanted and needed to walk to was Hayley.

At the dining table, they were all settling down for food. Niklaus pulled a chair for Andrea and sat down. He stared sliding her chair towards her and whispered in her ear, "I have some doubts about what happened that night. I need to discuss it with you, there are too many unexplainable things happening." With this sentence, Andrea's face lit up she felt like maybe he would finally understand. Together they could find the person who orchestrated this whole thing.

Unable to contain her happiness, she kissed him on the cheek and murmured a thank you. Klaus was shocked by her action but just nodded, maybe there was a chance that he was wrong. While the rest watched them with happy smiles, a certain blonde was fuming. She knew that it was time for the next attack.

A/N- I hope you liked it, please comment for any other scenes you would like to see. Also, the next few chapters may seem a bit draggy but I am just trying to make it as realistic as possible.
