Spending the night

"Let us stop ignoring the huge elephant in the room!" Hayley started. "I have no idea what you are talking about", to which Klaus received a glare. "Ok you are right we have to think about what we are going to do for the night. It's clear that this whole is orchestrated by someone who wants us to stay here but surprisingly means no harm." 

"Yes but they have still seen it fit to trap us here so we cannot trust their intentions, I think we can sleep in increments. One can stay awake while the other sleeps for three hours throughout the night" Hayley continued.

"That would work so I can take the first shift since you made dinner" Klaus suggested. "Niklaus Mikaelson being a gentleman will be something I will never get used to," Hayley said with a playful smile. "Haha very funny" playfully shaking his head with a small smile. Hayley made her way towards the bed and just collapsed, she had quite the day.

Niklaus noticed that she had already dozed off so he offed the lights and from a small corner the moonlight lit the room. It fell right on Hayley making her look like a goddess. Niklaus was flabbergasted at this beautiful view. He could not take his eyes off of her. A while ago he would have fallen asleep in minutes but now he was wide awake admiring his view. 

So much so that it had been six hours but his eyes did not shift one bit. He looked at her like he had never adored another thing on this planet before, like she was the only one for him. Suddenly he was snapped into existence when he realized she was waking up. Klaus quickly shifted his view looking all flustered. Hayley did not give it much thought, she was already consumed by the fact that he had not slept. 

She quickly got up and ordered him to go to sleep. He was planning to say that he is fine but seeing Hayley's face he knew better. Sleeping on the bed he realized how uncomfortable that chair was. He offered her a seat on the bed while he sleeps. After some insisting she agreed and sat next to him. Within a few minutes, he was asleep and she looked over him. 

Hayley wondered how sweet and innocent he looks while sleeping. Before she knew it she was looking at him lovingly. It looked like she was his and would stand by him forever like there was no other man for her. Consequently, he started to stir in his sleep which grabbed her attention. He looked like he was having a bad dream so she gently swayed his hair until he settled down.

The touch was so comforting that he held her hand and pulled her towards him. She was so close to him and then he wrapped his hands around her waist. She tried to gently free herself without waking him up but his hold was firm. She was really surprised at the amount of comfort she felt.

Her mind kept telling her to find a way to get away but her heart wanted to stay. However, it was quite late and she had no energy to move or think. Thus she dozed off in his arms feeling a sense of comfort she has never felt in her whole life. On the other hand, he was having the same nightmare again. It was not a nightmare but a fear he has always had as a young boy.

Mikael was a good man but his expectations have always been rather high. He always expected too much from Niklaus. He was caring at the time but the emotion of success took over. The is meant that being the best in his father's eyes meant everything to Niklaus. He could not handle the disappointment in his father's eyes. During times like this anger and aggression would come out. As a little boy, he would put too much pressure on himself. 

On some nights he would have a dream where he is a disappointment to his father. The next morning he would pick himself up and work hard to make sure it does not become reality. This was more of a temporary solution to the problem. He needed someone to love him even in the depths of failure. Holding her felt like it was forever no matter what would happen. 

That morning he woke up and his night had gone different than how it generally does when the nightmares occur. He felt supported and loved today. Not knowing why he got up and realized that someone was holding him and he was holding someone. He gazed down and saw her, that beautiful skin glowing in the sunlight. He thought to himself "she looks good in every type of light" and chuckled at that. 

The sun rays were hitting her eyes and they started to flutter. She was about to wake up so he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to sleep. At that moment she realized that they were both  too close. She tried to free herself but he tightened his grip. Suddenly an idea came into his head "I love you", he told while pretending to sleep. Shocked at that she began to free herself from him with more force and he added "Hayley", making sure there are no misunderstandings. 

Soon he freed her and got up a few minutes later, to see her confused eyes. He lightly chuckled and walked to the bathroom. He got ready in a tux and she was in a really extravagant lavender ball gown. They complimented each other and looked like a great pair to even the most innocent eyes. 

They had their normal banter but Klaus noticed that she never looked him in the eye like she used to. It was well known that she had still not processed what he had told her. After, a bit of normalcy she started to ignore and he realized that she was getting nervous. Her mind looked like it was at crossroads. 

Not entirely sure what to do he decided to confront her because it was getting irritating . "Hayley come here, I need to talk to you" 'I cannot, I have to figure out how to get out of here "You can do that later, come here" 'Not now' "Well I want to talk, now". After that he just pulled her by the waist towards him without thinking. Their heartbeats increased by their proximity. He said "I love you" and "I love you too" she said... 

A/N I am so sorry I have not been diligent with updates. I was going through something and I did not want to talk about. I promise you, I will be consistent from now on and I will send a message incase I hit a snag. I post on the weekends, sometimes on Friday. If I miss an update due to some reason, I will add a message in the previous chapter.
