Revelations and Questions

"You know I am always there for you, so if you ever feel like talking about me or just need some comfort please come to me. I love you Hayley and seeing you like this pains me", the blond confessed. Hayley just nodded to say that she was fine and they both parted after a tight hug. 

"Do not get too emotional, it does not suit you", Hayley joked. "Now come on Rebeka, tell me what you have found?", she asked with curiosity. "You are going to be proud", she said and showed her the copy of the document she had found. 

Hayley looked over it and her eyes widened with shock. "Please get everyone here, now !", she whispered with urgency. Within minutes the whole crew was there. "Elijah, is this the exact symbol you had copied from the document?", she questioned with agitation. 

Everyone was concerned about why such a minute thing would hold such importance. Hayley quickly went and brought a book after Elijah nodded to her question. "You all know that there are different types of alliances and the most common being..." "Business and marriage", Niklaus finished for her. "Yes, well this symbol is one of a marriage alliance", she said in a nervous tone.  

Everyone was extremely shocked, Rebeka had expected something along the lines but never marriage itself. That seemed too drastic, even for her. Most of them always pictured falling in love and then marrying. Whereas, Niklaus and Andrea had never even fathomed the idea of marriage. It seemed too foreign to them and they were not ready to go through with it now. 

"I think we should talk to our parents about it", said Rebeka's voice as she recovered. They all nodded and headed towards the castle's lounge room. As they expected all their parents were sitting over there and having a nice conversation over tea. Suddenly, they looked at their children's distressed faces and walked toward them in confusion. 

"What is wrong Andrea, why do you look so worried", Victor asked lovingly while touching her cheek. Andrea just removed his hands and said, "I never thought you would do this to me." "You all decided to play with our lives like it's some game...marrying us off", Klaus scoffed. The parents exchanged looks at the news. "We are not playing with your lives, instead securing them Klaus", Elizabeth said with conviction. "By stealing our freedom?", Andrea asked with anguish. 

"No we just need a power couple to lead the states of Europe and to unify us all, we were just seeing who would be best suited for the role", Esther said. The children were confused as to why this happened and why it was hidden. "Many are conspiring against the royals and wanted to overthrow us. This will help secure our reign for generations. I am sorry that we did not tell you but this was a very official operation, even though the way might seem intimate but it holds national importance. Currently, taken care of only by the Royals", Mikael said with his head held high. 

Niklaus and Andrea gave each other a look, they knew it was time to tell them about Marcel. Thus, they began the story from start till where they would finish. "All this has been happening and you did not think to tell us anything", Mikael roared. Klaus grimaced, trying to come up with words. Andrea noticed this and helped him out, "Yes, we knew but I assure you we were always safe. We just completed our duties towards our people and did everything we have been training so far.", Hayley said with confidence. 

Mikael eyed her still angry, but Elizabeth said thoughtfully, "The unification must be done earlier than we thought, or else this Marcel might succeed." At that both Niklaus and Andrea started to pale, they had seen their names put together. Both of them glanced at each other and quickly looked away, thinking that their so-called pretense would turn into reality. Elizabeth noticed this and politely asked the kids to go back to their rooms. 

Once they left, a meeting of the Royals was arranged. They all discussed the recent events and a vote was called upon to decide their future rulers. Expectations are generally not met, but this time they were exceeded. Niklaus and Andrea won by an overwhelming amount, except for two unknown royal families that disagreed. Ignoring it, Esther said, "Well this is wonderful, we have a wedding to plan", excited for her son's wedding.
