Author's Note: A little story set within Season 9. Just a fun little idea I came up with. Don't worry, the pokemon thing I talked about is still in the works. I just needed to do something that wasn't relating to it.

 Something short. Something sweet.

Anyways, some new things are coming soon. It'll take a couple of days to get it figured out, so please be patient. I'll make a non-cryptic announcement about it at a later time.

 Enjoy.

 Mumbo's POV:

It's been a little over a day since I decided to become Grian's neighbor. While nothing big has happened, besides the trees surrounding the vault (and copper while I was gone), there hasn't been anything out of the ordinary for how Grian's antics usually transpired.

Not even today was unusual... But.... Well...

My feathery tail twitched as I walked across the blackstone bridge that went between my lump and Grian's rock. When I was fully across the bridge to the base, I stopped at the entrance and frowned.

Grian was here an hour ago. I could've sworn I saw him flying around with shulker boxes in hand. He couldn't have flown off or gone into his floating portal; I would've seen him do either.

" Grian!" I called out with my hands cupped together.

 No answer.

Not even the mobs below were making noise. Then again, I may not even be close enough to hear them.

 Weird.

" GRIAN!" I yelled again as I reluctantly took a step forward; Crossing the threshold gave reason for my reluctance. Everything became eerie all of a sudden.

Maybe its just the vast emptiness of the interior. Or, maybe, it's the fact that Grian was nowhere to be found. Maybe it's just my overall nerves.

 It's hard to tell...

Looking down into the accidental mob spawner, I tried to find any zombie holding enchanted tools. After all, even though there wasn't any death message, it doesn't mean that Grian isn't hurt.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I didn't see any glowing weapons that looked familiar.

Then, a thought came to my head: Two thoughts in fact.

Maybe he's just at his moved chest monster? Maybe I'm freaking out for nothing?

Turning around, I walked out the door and headed to the pile of chests. My tail feathers ruffled as I narrowed my eyes. Shielding my eyes with my hand, I spotted something small and fuzzy on an enderchest. The thing kind of looked like a stuffed animal.

Maybe Scar gave Grian one as a gift?

When I began to approach the enderchest, I briefly stopped and blinked. The item wasn't a small plush animal. I know this because it was slowly, yet steadily, moving. This thing, whatever it is, was alive.

I hastened over to the thing with a shaky of my head. My juvenile wings twitched as I felt sweat form on my brow as I noticed the yellow and purple wings.

 Grian.

 This tiny thing was Grian.

Settling my nerves with a deep breath, I kneeled down with a frown.

" W-What happened to you, Grian?" I questioned as I placed my hand, palm-side up, onto the enderchest. Grian, who was now about the height and size of a bat, looked up at me and squeaked.
