Chapter 2: Lovely

Lucinda had been right about the aquarium in the city. It. Was. Huge.

And luckily for you, they were willing to have you in for an interview.

You couldn't be happier to have a job at such a beautiful park with all the wonderful aquatic life surrounding you. The animals understood you without you even saying a word.

That was the best part.

"Hi! I'm Jenn. Are you here for an interview?" The woman at the front greeted you with a glowing smile.

"Yes, it should be under (Y/N) (L/N)." You gave a small smile seeing the sea themed decorations litter the building.

"Alright I found it! If you'll just-" she stopped mid-sentence when the phone at the desk rang and she picked it up.

"What...What?! Alright I'll do the best I can!" She gulped, her face draining in colour as she hung up the phone.

"Change of plans! I need your help! Our normal performer cancelled on us and we have a big Dolphin display unveiling today! I need someone to take her place."

They were opening a dolphin display? But dolphins didn't work well in captivity...

You had no time to start debating ethics though, because she took your shoulders.

"Please take her place!!"

"What? I cant-"

"It says here that you have your diving experience, and that you've done this job before!" She cut in.

"Yeah, when I was 21! That was 5 years ago and it was amateur! I don't even think my diving certificate is still valid!" You replied.

"Please! I'll ensure you land the job you want!"

The desperation was evident in the woman's tone.

You weren't one to strike corrupt deals for a job but you felt truly sorry for her.

"Fine..But just so you know, Dolphins don't thrive well in captivity, and it also takes awhile to form a bond with the animal you perform with. I can't just waltz in and be bestfriends with them. It takes time, and trust, and-"

"Please! Will you do it then?!"

A sigh escaped your lips and you nodded.

"Great!" She grabbed your arm and tugged you off to the back.

Great. First day of "work" and you were already being kidnapped.

"Hurry up you two! I want to make it there so I can see the turtle display!"

"Oh Garroth. I really hope this isn't about your theory that they're actually the Ninja Turtles again." Laurance sighed.

"They are! One of them is even named Leonardo!"

Dante and Laurance could only shake their heads in amusement.

Their friend was sure a crazy one.

Garroth had dragged the both of them off to the city's aquarium to see the turtle display for the 3rd time that month because he thought the tiny creatures became Ninjas at night.

Dante squirmed uncomfortably all of a sudden and both men beside him looked at him in question.

"I really need to..you know...go."

"Oh come on!" Garroth whined.

"I'm sorry man, but, nature's calling. I promise I'll be back in a moment. Besides it's not like we haven't seen that display before. Go on without me." Dante said.
