(Based on Episode 14 Season 1, not really any spoilers just wanted to let you know the setting.)
"Hmm. I liked Exodus better." You concluded.
"REALLY? That was so posed to be a groundbreaking moment and that's all you have to say?" He fumed.
"OH MY TITAN! I am astonished by your basic witch boy name. Can't believe it, a truly artistic, unique name." You said sarcastically.
H-"Whatever, we're leaving."
Y/n- "Oh no, I was just going to stay here the whole day."
H- "I didn't need the sarcasm."
Y/n- "But you wanted it,"
(5 minutes later)
"K got my staff!" You smiled. "What's up with yours?" You asked, seeing he didn't have either Flapjack or his Golden Guard staff. "Replacement, I'm not so posed to be recognized, and the shiny staff kinda gives it away." He said, matter-of-factly. "Why not just use the bird, instead of the white training one?" You inquired.
H- "No reason."
Y/n- "You suck at lying."
By now you'd both leaped into the air, lightly cruising through the sky just fast enough so that the air buzzed past your ears.
H- "The Emperor doesn't approve of it, and this one is more efficient."
Y/n- "But it's got less elemental-"
"The other's not for me." He cut you off. You were oblivious occasionally, but not now.
You were oblivious, not stupid.
You could clearly see that this was a sensitive topic and decided to drop it. You made a bit of small talk, just about things like Coven positions, books, and all things of the sort.
"And that's why Demons shouldn't have access to milk." You ended the conversation as you both spiraled towards the ground, finding a clear spot in between the brightly colored scam stands. "Agreed." He landed just before you, waiting for you to step off your staff.
"Ok, I need you to understand we're strictly here on business. No fooling around until 3 Pm, that means no shopping, no gam-" Hunter went on until he realized you were already off, trying to throw small sacks filled with sand into baskets across the booth. "Y/n. I'm serious." He groaned. "Fine, only a little bit of fun." You compromised, realizing you'd lost the game.
(30 minutes later)
"Help!" A light voice peered through the chatter of the crowds. Both of your heads turned around, and without a word, you both jumped onto your staff to reach the commotion. You were there in a blink of an eye, finding yourselves in front of a small green carnival tent that was selling jewelry and gems of all sorts. The screaming was coming from a small old lady, pointing to a group of teens your age, running off and taking pictures with her products, hastily weaving through the crowd with giggles as they robbed her shop.
You and Hunter immediately turned back, heading after the teenagers. You both just wanted to catch up quickly. You felt bad for the old lady of course, but the longer it took you to get them back, the longer you'd have to actually work. Hunter's mind was in different places though. He had a job to do, to help the old lady, but he also wanted to get it over with. The longer he had to talk to people his age with whom he had nothing in common, the more self-conscious he became.
Almost in sync, you slowed down and created a light fog, as Hunter sped up and cut the teenagers off in front of their path. You took ground behind them, blocking escape. "We were just joking, chill out!" A girl with short purple hair rolled her eyes, dropping a few gems into Hunter's open hands.
