The sleepover went on like any other, you joked around until 3 AM, he went and slept on the couch, and then you ate breakfast. Nothing seemed off, you walked him home, hung there for a while, took turns playing games on each others phones (he suggested using each others phones to beat each others high scores), finished homework, and went to bed. The next day however, was not so pleasant.

You and Hollis walked into school, he seemed especially happy, so you went along with him. You had no reason to bring down his mood, nor question it. As you stepped towards where you, Hollis, and everyone else usually met before class, all you could see were the backs of all you friends. They all huddled over someone's penstagram, whispering.

"Morning! Whatcha lookin at?" You asked as you peered over their shoulders. "Leave us alone." Rory turned around, her face red with anger. "What'd I do?" You asked, shocked and slightly hurt. "Don't play dumb! I can't believe you, you're insufferable!" Myles stared down at you. This was the final straw, something inside of you broke. Like a dam cracking under the last drop of water, allowing all your tears to flow loose as you ran down the hall and into the restrooms. Everyone was staring, you wish you didn't notice.

You washed your face and walked out, sitting behind the school as you leaned your head agains the brick. As if a savior had sent him (or so it seemed), Hollis walked up slowly and sat by you. You rested your head on his shoulder silently, the only sound was his breathing and your tears hitting the grass. If only you'd opened your eyes, you would've seen the sadistic smile across his face. After a while, you spoke up.

"I- I just don't understand what- what I did wrong.." you sniffled between words. "I just found out, someone must've hacked your account and posted hate posts on penstagram.." Hollis gently rubbed your arm. God you hated thinking about it now. But you enjoyed it in the moment, and it gave you comfort. "How can you trust me? No one else would believe it!" You looked at him, he began a soft smile; "We were hanging out then, and I know you wouldn't do that." He reassured you. You talked for a while with him, not minding that you missed the whole day.

He told you that you didn't need those friends anyways, that they were fake, and you believed him. You and him hung out over the next few months, not even bothering to make up with any of the others. You wanted to at first, but Hollis advised you against it, and you listened. He was your only friend, and you hung out daily. It disgusted you now seeing how oblivious you'd been, but you were in love with him. You liked him and god dammit he was madly in love with you too.

Eventually you started dating, and in the end, you only thought it made you happy. You had to be happy right? You were dating and you liked him and your parents were proud of your relationship since his family made great partnership. Your academic success was beyond outstanding, so why did it all feel wrong? You talked to the only person you truly trusted, Hollis.

"I just want to take a break until I can figure this out!" You explained, Hollis fuming at your decision. "You love me! Why would it help to leave?" His face was hot and mad. "I just need to think with myself!" You argued back. "Do you have any idea how much I did for this to work out? I got rid of Myles and everyone else that stood between our love to make us happy! I comforted you when you didn't know what you needed and this is how you repay me!?" He screamed.

"What do you mean got rid of them?" You asked. "Are you that dense? I posted the stupid messages about them on your account! You didn't even know you needed it and I still did it!"

This baffled you, all this time it was him. It aligned, the way he looked when you hung out with Myles, the jealousy, using your phone while you were away, it all made sense. He was leading a horrid dance and you swayed to all his music. You made all the moves he'd choreographed, and you believed it was all true. He'd manipulated you and lied to you and did it all in the vain name of love. And you believed it all.

"You did it! You ruined it all and I trusted you! I thought I loved you!" You cried. "You do love me! The heart doesn't lie!" He attempted, but you wouldn't fall for it again. "Well you do! You do lie! I thought I loved you but I just loved your lies, get out."
