"Good morning Akaashi! I didn't see you at the cafe."

"Sorry, I overslept and I had to rush here." he said, putting the papers down and he leaned closer to his desk, watching her come around and stand by his side. "You should definitely take a day or two off." she said, he turned in his chair, giving her a lazy smile as she could see the tiredness in his eyes.

"I would but.."

"But? Just take those two days to rest! You'll feel better, even if you sleep all day." she smiled, patting his shoulders as he nodded his head. "I have to get to work, i'll see you when I leave! See you Akaashi!" she then walked off, holding her purse in her hands as he blushed.

He looked down at his desk, noticing that she had left a sticky note that wasn't there before. There were bears on each corner, a cute sticky note in fact, the corners of his lips lifted up into a smile as he read what she had wrote.

Are you free Saturday?

              — Y/n L/n

"I'm free.."

———

"Mom..I don't have a boyfriend!"

She walked down the empty hall, her phone in her hand as she saw Akaashi start to pick up his things. "Well bring someone you might be interested in! You need some more love in your life!" her mother said over the phone as Y/n gasped, Akaashi turning his head to her.

"Then you get me a boyfriend! It's really difficult Mom!" she started to whisper, feeling Akaashi's eyes on her. "Why are you whispering? Is there a boy there?" Y/n's jaw dropped. 'What is she? A psychic?!'

"L/n, are you heading home now?" Akaashi asked her as Y/n quickly ended the call with her mother before walking over to Akaashi. "Yup! And you're heading downstairs right?" she asked, tapping her shoe against the floor while her hands softly landed onto the counter top. "No, I was told someone else was able to take my shift for today."

"Aw that's great! That means you'll be able to go home right now and rest!"

"Yeah..but I actually don't want to go home at the moment. Are you going anywhere now?"

"Just to my parents house..why?"

———

"Y/n..you brought a man home! And he's handsome!"

'I'm going to drive myself..off a cliff.' she thought, glancing over to Akaashi who was shaking her mother's hand. "Why would you lie about not having a boyfriend? Are you ashamed of him?" M/n poked at her daughter's arm as Y/n froze. "Mom.." she mumbled, hearing Akaashi let out a chuckle.

"It's fine, she probably wanted to keep it as a surprise." Akaashi hesitantly grabbed Y/n's hands, she could feels his fingers fiddle around hers. She was more than shocked that he was willingly going as far as holding hands with her just to "prove" that he was her "boyfriend."

"Well come on! There's dinner on the table and we don't want it to get cold!" M/n turned around, walking over to the dining room as Akaashi gave Y/n an apologetic look. "It seems like you were trying to impress your mother, if she were here, instead of mine." Y/n whispered over to him, leaning closer to Akaashi as their shoulders met. "I got nervous." he said.

"I think you'll be alright, boyfriend." she chuckled, watching his face go red. Even though he was just playing as her boyfriend right now, the name made his heart flutter. She felt the palms of his hands grow hotter. The two followed her mother into room, both sitting on chairs next to each other.

"So, how long have you been going out?"

"A few months." Y/n said, nodding her head as Akaashi hummed. "We've been dating for five months." Akaashi added, M/n's eyes widening as she looked at her daughter. "You hid him for five months?!" M/n said in an exaggerated tone. "I didn't mean to!" Y/n immediately said as her mother gasped.

"So you just forgot to mention to me that you have a boyfriend?!" M/n felt the betrayal, putting a hand on her forehead, pretending to feel sick as Y/n rolled her eyes. "Okay Mom, now you're exaggerating!"

"Exaggerating?!" M/n placed her hand over her chest. "Do you see this? How could she?!" M/n scoffed, turning her head to the side as she heard her daughter sigh. "This is Akaashi Keiji—"

"Oh that boy you said was cute—" Y/n quickly ran over to her mother and cover her mouth. Her cheeks heating up with a burning sensation as she had an awkward smile plastered on her face. Her eyes set on his, he was smiling ear to ear as a coat of blush started to form on his cheeks.

"Alright, fine! It's nice to meet you Akaashi Keiji and I hope you'll be the one marrying my daughter!"

"Mom!"
