Chapter twenty-five: Thank You

"I would like to make a toast!" Crystal yelled, clapping her hands together, grabbing everyone's attention.

"First of all, I wanna say congratulations on the newly wedded couple. When I first met Leila, I noticed her pain, pain I later found out was cause of some guy. I'm not even gonna bring up Adrian but him and I helped Leila in darkest times. For three years, Leila was down the hill. Completely miserable. But when the day Jonathan came back, she seemed more happier, more herself. And I really want to thank Jonathan for that even though I wanted to kick his ass the first day I met him." Crystal, spoke making some people at her last sentence.

"I love you, Leila with all my heart. We all do." She gestured to all my friends who were sitting together, smiling brightly at me, "As your best friend, I stood by your side through all your problems and helped you. You're like the sister I never had, my other missing half. You knew, whenever you needed me, I would always be there. But clearly, now that Jonathan showed up into the picture, you're going to need so much of him but don't think I won't be there for you. So I hope he makes you ever so truly happy and congratulation once again." She finished off, as I felt tears break through my eyes, god Ima kill her for making me cry.

"Thank you." I whispered which she clearly heard as she winked at me. Everyone started clapping as all my friends, one by one got up and gave there own little speech.

My dad and mom slowly stood up and was now in front of everyone. "As a father, I should have been there for you. I should have never done what I did and stayed by your side. I lost almost every moment in your life. And I'm so sorry for abandoning you the way I did." My father spoke, making more tears run down my cheeks.

"It was also a difficulty for me to watch you go through all that pain. I tried my best to be the greatest mother for you. But everything around us seemed to collapse harder on you. I was by your side the nights you would waking up screaming, when you came home late from parties, when you came home all beat up from fights. It pained to see my only daughter go through so much." My mother spoke as I let out a sob. I did this to her, I'm such an idiot.

"But that doesn't stop the love we have for you. And I hope Jonathan will forever keep that happiness in you. We wanna thank Jonathan for also protecting you and never leaving your side. Even if he was still part of making you sad and miserable, he helped you a lot and we would like to say thank you. And congratulations." My father spoke, while hugging my mother.

I felt Jonathan wrap his arm around my shoulders bringing me closer to his chest as he planted a kiss on my top of my head. A few people awed at the affection he showed while others just simply smiled.

"So you must be the fascinating Kayla I presume." I chuckled, looking down at this beautiful young creature. Her wide green eyes snapped at me quickly as a tint of pink took over her cheeks.

"Uh, why yes. It's nice to meet you." She spoke, sitting up on her chair while I took a seat next to her.

"Why so bum, hun?" I slightly frowned at her. "Have some troubles?"

"Yeah." She stretched out the word, fiddling with her fingers.

"You can tell me. Plus I am married to your cousin now so we're basically like family now." I nudged her arm with my elbow making her smile.

"Well, I have this short memory loss right now. Something happened when my brother and my alpha graduated and well no one will tell me what happened. On the twenty-first, it was my birthday but before it, I kinda..." She slowly murmured away.

"Shifted." I finished her sentence, making her look at me with wide eyes.

"You know about werewolves?" She whispered, as I chuckled nodding.

"Well of course. I am married to one and I'm part werewolf, too. So don't worry." I laughed, making her cheeks flush red again.

"Okay well I shifted and now I completed my family of weirdos. Cause well my mother and father shifted in their early ages and than older brother he shifted at a younger age as well. When I was in my short coma, my younger brother also shifted due to anger and same with me." She chuckled, "Well the twenty-first, it was my fifteen birthday. We thew a party. My mother got me angry cause well she wanted me to find my mate already and that got me really angry that I ran and shifted and bam everyone now knows what kind of wolf I am. I also fought the neighboring alpha's son cause he thought I was a rogue." She topped it off.

"Wow. You really did shift in a young age. But wow, that's some story. But don't worry, I bet everything will be fine from here on out." I placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling at her.

I stood up, fixing my dress than looked down at her. She raced her eyebrows at me but I rolled my eyes and grabbed her arm, yanking her up.

"Come on. You need to have some fun." I continued to pull her to the dance floor. She was shaking her head rapidly but than a young boy came and quickly picked her up from the waist, throwing her over his shoulder.

"Allow me, Luna." He bowed, wearing a smirk on his face.

"Put my sister down Lukas or I will kill you!" Another young guy came, with gripped fist yelling at Lukas.

"Hey, relax. The Luna was just trying to help your sister with having some fun so I thought I would help out." Lukas smirked as I giggled when I heard Kayla screaming.

"How many times do I have to tell you. Alpha or not, mess with my sister and I will hurt you." Brown hair spoke, glaring at his alpha.

"What's your name, young man?" I crossed my arms while he turned and bowed at me.

"Jamie, Luna. I'm Kayla's older brother and this is Lukas, our Alpha." He gestured to the blondie who was still carrying Kayla.

"Put me down!" I heard her yell while Lukas didn't seem to hear her pleads at all.

"We shall be taking her. Have a good evening, Luna." Lukas bowed, as they strolled off with Kayla.

"I guess you met my cousin's and their Alpha." Jonathan spoke, startling me.

"Yeah, she's such a nervous child when it comes to meeting people, huh?" I questioned as he nodded in response. "She has a great future in her hands. And a very protective brother as well." I chuckled.

"Jamie's always been like that. But come on, your parents are looking for you." Jonathan grabbed my arm, dragging me off. I smiled thinking about my future. I even feel my future is great.
