"Now you know that's way too much Henny." Liyah laughed while pulling into her mother's driveway.

"I'm going to need it," I mumbled but slightly relaxed when I noticed none of Malik's cars were here yet.

"Bitch, chill. . You know who Alyssa is and you know Malik. They not gon shoot you... Maybe." She laughed even louder.

I hit her arm playfully. "Yeah but you know the circumstances are different this time."

"I get that but at least try to act like this situation doesn't faze you. Plus, I'm going to be there and a couple of Malik's homeboys' are gon be there too. You are not alone."

"Like that information is supposed to help." I rolled my eyes and opened the car door and she followed shortly after.

"I got your back bae," Liyah said

And I hugged her slightly before letting go.

Walking into Mama Maverick's house was always the best feeling in the world.

Her house smelled like warm cinnamon and there was '90s music playing in the background.

"If it ain't my two favorite girls." We heard a voice say and I noticed who it was.

It was Draco, Malik's main man. He had been gone out of town for some months and he flew back yesterday.

"Hey, Draco," Maliyah said waving.

"Draco!" I yelled jumping into his arms and he caught me.

"You looking better than ever." He said putting me down.

"I could say the same for you. Your dreads done grew too." I said grabbing one and playing with it.

He smiled at me, showing off the golden grill in his mouth that was embedded with diamonds.

I stared at him for a minute just admiring his beauty. How does it feel to be God's favorite?

"Hey, babies." I heard Mama's voice call making me look away from Draco.

"Gone and get in there and help me finish cooking." She said turning around.

Maliyah and I followed after her and I waved at Draco telling him to follow.

Once we were in the Kitchen, mama had Liyah on Macaroni duty and I was making the potato salad. Mama was stuffing the turkey. Draco was just watching us and he was quiet as always.

"Draco, will you peel these for me?" I asked while handing him a bowl of potatoes.

He looked at the potatoes then looked at me, then back at the potatoes again.

"I guess." He said picking one up and I laughed.

"You still got that goofy-ass laugh. I damn near forgot about it."

"Oh shut up." I said pushing his shoulder back playfully.

We all continued cooking and mama joined us as well.

"Liyah, where yo mean ass brotha at?" Draco asked and Liyah rolled her eyes.

"He'll be here in a lil bit."

As if on cue, Malik came into view. Alyssa was right beside him with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey everybody." He said looking at everyone in the room until his eyes landed on me.

We locked eyes. It was as if he was trying to figure out what I was thinking.

"Wassup man. It's been a minute." Draco said tapping Malik on the shoulder.

Malik let a huge smile spread across his face and he dapped him up.

"How was Texas? Is yo mama any better?"

Draco shook his head slightly "She getting there but overall the trip was fine."

"Hi everyone. I'm Alyssa." Alyssa said causing all the attention to fall on her.

"We know who you are." I mumbled and Liyah elbowed me.

"Right." Malik said wrapping his arms around her.

"Mama this is Alyssa." He said introducing her.

Mama Maverick sat the turkey down and she looked the girl up and down.

"It's nice to meet you baby." She said and Alyssa smiled at her. Mama went back to whatever she was doing. I could tell she could care less about Alyssa being here.

"Fayth, it's a surprise seeing you here. Malik said it was a family event." Alyssa said with a fake ass smile.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked looking at her funny with my eyebrows raised.

"Well you know, technically your not their family."

"Bitch when will you ever learn to mind your own business?" Maliyah said before I could respond.

I felt myself start to get angry. The craziest part is she was right. At this moment I felt like I didn't belong.

"Yeah that ain't cool. Fayth is family and you know that. I don't even know why you starting shit with her." Malik said sternly.

Alyssa just stood there unbothered as if she didn't say anything at all.

"Hey!" Mama Maverick yelled causing us to look at her.

"Don't be cussing in my house. And lil lady you might be pregnant with my grandchild but that don't mean you can come up in here disrespecting my house and my family." she said pointing a finger at Alyssa.

"You know what I don't have to deal with this. Malik take me home." She waved us off before walking out of the house.

"I'm sorry mama. I'll deal with her." Malik said before following after her.

Maliyah, Draco, mama and I all stood there in silence for a few moments trying to process what had just happened.

"Damn. We ain't even ate yet and the bullshit already starting." Draco chuckled showing off his grills.

"You lucky you carrying my seed or I would've been choked you out." I said to Alyssa as I pulled up to her house.

"All I did was ask a question, Malik," she said rolling her eyes. She sat there with her arms folded and legs crossed.

"Yeah not only did you ask an inappropriate question but you disrespected my mama and Fayth." I said loudly.

Her dumbass was starting to piss me off even more because she didn't even understand how rude she was being.

Everyone in the hood knew my family was Fayth's family. I couldn't understand why Alyssa would even ask a question like that.

Hell, last time I checked they were cool with each other.

"I'm sorry for disrespecting your mother. I'll see you at my doctors appointment in a couple week's. Goodbye." She said before angrily getting out of the car and slamming my door.

"Dumb bitch." I mumbled to myself before speeding off.
