Annabeth
I swear to the Gods I'm going to kick that insufferable seaweed brained moron right in his perfect little face.
This kid had the nerve to leave camp on his birthday without even saying goodbye? Sure, I get it, he was excited to see his Mom, I would be too if Sally were my mother. But he couldn't even let me know he was going?
That idiotic prick.
I can't help but cuss him out as I pace the length of my cabin. All the other kids are eating dinner, but I can't. Not now. Not when Percy has been gone for almost five days now without even sending a letter. Surely he will send me a letter sooner or later.
Or...
I pick my gaze up from the floor.
What had he said about a quest before he left? He was going to meet Chiron in his cabin, then come and tell me what the quest was after. He had promised. This has been the part that has confused me ever since I was told he was at his Mom's. He never breaks his promises.
But Chiron wouldn't send him on his way without letting him say goodbye?
Would he?
The cabin is so quiet I can hear my own heartbeat, I notice how it rapidly picks up as I realize what is going on here.
This quest was given to him by Chiron, and Chiron alone. Whatever it is, Chiron didn't want me or anyone else knowing about it.
Percy never left me.
He was sent away.
If Percy didn't have a choice whether or not he got to say goodbye, that means he isn't a insufferable seaweed brained moron. He does have a perfect face though. And he's not an idiotic prick either... no, now he's just an idiot.
But I know that wherever he is, whatever country he's in, whoever he's with, I will find him. And that is a promise.
It doesn't take me long to pack my bag. It's not like I have a lot of thing I need to bring. Food, water, my baseball cap, and some weapons. When I'm finished, the backpack I stuffed it all in isn't even that heavy. Good. I can't having it slow me down.
I sling it over my shoulder and make my way out of the cabin. No one notices me leave, not when they're all busy eating a laughing with one another at dinner. I slip into the darkness of the forest, moving towards the setting sun.
My gut is telling me to go west.
So I begin to walk.
I won't rest until I find Percy.
My Percy.
