Percy
I bring Stiles into cabin 3, he still doesn't seem to believe what I'm saying.
He will soon.
I show him what bed he will be using for the time being, I don't know if he will stay long. I make him sit on the mattress, about to leave again when a thought comes to mind.
"If I let you go, will you run?" I ask.
He stares at me. "What?"
"If I can make you walk again, will you try to run away?"
"No."
"Don't lie."
He pauses. "Maybe."
I nod. "Good enough."
According to Void, kanima venom only lasts until the victim can flush it out of their system, basically until their body heals enough for it's muscles and nerves to work. In Stiles' case, he's human, he doesn't heal as fast as Scott would, or even I would. He might stay this way until morning. To be honest, him staying paralyzed would make my job a whole lot easier, but I also don't want to be on babysitting duty all night. So, against my better judgement, I decide to heal him.
The best way to flush something out is with water.
Luckily for him, water is my specialty.
"I'm going to teach you something, okay?" I pick up a glass of water from the nightstand, I think it's Tyson's. "See this?"
"The glass of water?" He looks confused. "Yes, I do."
"I want you to focus on the water, okay?"
He nods, unsure.
"Try and make it move."
He stares at it, and despite his uncertainty, he is giving it his full attention. I hold the water steady, watching for any sign of movement. And then a small ripple appears on the surface, Stiles concentrates harder, his face is calm but his eyes are focused. Another ripple forms, followed by bubbles rising from the bottom.
"Good." I say, encouraging him. "Now separate some of it."
He looks at me. "What do you mean?"
"Separate a drop of water from the rest of it."
His gaze returns to the glass, he watches the water with curiosity, as if he can feel it, as though it were alive. The water ripples once again, the bubbles form just as they did last time, but instead of stopping there, he continues. He focuses, unblinking, and I watch as the water begins to rise upwards, like a snake. He seems to be thinking the same thing because soon the water has eyes, scales, a forked tongue.
But then a scream pierces the air, and the water snake drops back into the glass.
Stiles' mouth is open, his eyes excited. "I did it." He says in surprise. "I did it."
"You did." I want to smile, but I'm not quite done yet. "Now, use the water to heal yourself.
His own smile falls. "What?"
"Heal yourself." I say. "Stick you hand in the water, and heal yourself." I hold the glass out towards him. I make him take it, but he's hesitant, I can see it on his face. I give him a nod of encouragement, he has to obey as I control his hand, moving it towards the opening of the glass. As soon as his skin touches the water, the colour returns to his face. His eyes no longer look dead, like they had when Void had taken control of him. Soon, I don't need to make him sit upright, he is doing it on his own.
"You can do this too?" He asks me.
"All children of Poseidon can. There are three of us, you, me, and Tyson."
"So this is real?"
"Well, yeah. What did you think it was? A dream?"
Stiles shrugs. "Kind of."
Against Void's control, I roll my eyes. I stand, taking the glass from him. "Let's go." I gesture for hi to get off the bed. "You're going to kill your first monster."
