"She wasn't in class again today," Luke said as he dropped his bag and plopped down on the couch.
"Again?" Kota asked. "I know I haven't seen her in the library the past couple of days."
"When was the last time any of us even seen her?" Gabe asked.
"The day I went to speak to her boss," North admitted.
"You did WHAT?" Luke asked sitting up.
"I spoke to her boss," North shouted. "She has the right to know that her employee is under the influence while working with animals."
"You shouldn't have done that," Axel shook his head. "There was no proof of her even taking anything."
"I saw it," North growled. "I know what I saw."
"Just because you saw her consuming something doesn't mean it was drugs," Sean sighed pinching his nose. "It could have been a mint for all you know."
"If it wasn't anything illegal then she would have told us what she took," North tried to point out. "If it wasn't illegal then she had nothing to hide."
"OR," Luke stressed, "she didn't want to say anything to you because of how you have been treating her. You have been bullying her since you met her. Maybe she just didn't want to speak to you."
"She could have still told Doc what she took if she didn't have anything to hide," North tried to argue. "By not saying anything she is guilty."
"Or she is innocent until proven guilty and she is just as fucking stubborn as you," Gabe shook his head. "Why should she tell you anything with the fucking way you have been mean to her? Maybe you should try being nice instead. What's that fucking Indian saying, Axel?"
"It's a proverb," Axel chuckled, "But it's: you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Or It is better to have less thunder in the mouth and more lightning in the hand."
"Yeah, that first one," Gabe nodded. "Quit being fucking mean to her."
"She's hiding something," North growled.
"That may be," Axel nodded, "But we have our secrets as well, remember that."
North growled and stormed out of the house. "He isn't going to go to her house is he?" Luke asked nervously.
"We better make sure he doesn't," Axel sighed and got up. "We really need to figure out what his issue is when it comes to her."
Meanwhile
Calista sighed and locked the door to the veterinary clinic. It had been a very long day at work and she still had assignments to do at the house. Hearing her dogs growl, she turned and gasped.
"Where have you been?" North asked as he walked up to her. "You haven't been in class in over a week and the professor no longer calls your name for attendance."
"あなたはここで何をしているの?Anata wa koko de nani o shite iru no? (What are you doing here?)" She asked shocked.
"Don't try that Miss Smarty Pants," North shook his head. "Use a language that I know."
"Leave me alone," She said grabbing her car keys.
"Answer me," North demanded, "Where have you been?"
"Не ваше дело. Ne vashe delo. (None of your business.)" She said rolling her eyes.
"Hey Cupcake," Luke smiled softly as he waved, "I've missed you in class. It's so boring now."
"Sorry," She shrugged, "Now excuse me, I have to leave. I have things to do."
"This late at night?" North asked. "What do you have to do?"
"Leave it alone North," Kota shook his head, "It's none of your business. It's her private information, if she wants us to know then she will tell us."
"Can I ask where you have been?" Luke asked. She looked at North then shook her head. She signed to please move out of the way and Luke nodded, "Move North, she wants to leave."
North opened his mouth then sighed and moved to the side. She walked over to her car and frowned when Kota opened her door for her then went to open the doors for the dogs. They barked and hopped into the car then laid down. "Thank you," She mumbled as she got into the car and he shut the door then leaned over the open window.
"I'm sorry he's being a jerk," Kota said and she nodded. "I can have Raven beat him up if you want. He loves to prove his Russian strength at times." She rolled her eyes and started her car.
"Can I come by later Cupcake?" Luke asked pouting. "Please?"
