As I was getting on the bus Joanne came running up behind me. "Something happened between you and Joe!" She accused me.
"What?" I asked her. How did she know?
"Yep." She sat down next to me. You're looking at each other more than usual. If that's even possible. And you keep blushing. It's disgusting if I'm quite honest. Tell me!" Joanne demanded loudly. Luckily no one on the bus was paying us any attention. I was aware that Ethan was sitting two rows back.
"Did you speak to Aaron?" I changed the subject.
Luckily Joanne was easily distracted, she blushed, "yes, we are going out for a milkshake tomorrow."
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked excitedly.
"We only agreed today. I haven't seen you!"
"What are you going to wear?" I asked.
We spent the rest of the bus journey discussing Joanne's wardrobe and what she could wear. She didn't want to go too casual and make it seem like she wasn't making an effort or too formal and make it seem like she was making an effort.
When we got off the bus Joanne dragged me to her room to show me the two final outfits we had settled on on the bus.
Once we had decided on her outfit and how she would wear her hair she felt better.
"Just relax. Remember it's Aaron. You know how to talk to Aaron. It should be easy." I tried to advice.
"Yeah." She nodded, "you make it look easy. With Joe." She clarified, then paused and added, "did something happen with you and Joe?"
I blushed and looked around as if someone would overhear.
"You can say." Joanne said, "no one will hear you." She teased, "and I won't tell anyone." She promised.
I moved so I was sitting closer to her and said in a low excited voice with a blush, "we slept together."
"You did?" Joanne did not match my voice volume.
"Shhh!" I shushed her.
She brushed me off, "when?"
"Yesterday."
"Wow." Joanne looked shocked, "was it good?" She asked me.
I laughed and nodded blushing again, "yeah it was good. I love him. He was perfect. Gentle and sweet."
"Ok. Still my cousin." She cut me off before I could say anything more.
"Sorry." I blushed more, "you asked."
"No wonder you two seemed in such a good mood." Joanne laughed.
I laughed too, "don't tell him I told you!"
"Of course not!" Joanne said.
Saturday morning came and I went round to Joanne's to help her get ready for her date.
Aaron was picking her up at noon and then I was going to Joe's for 1 but Joe was meeting me before at his aunts.
At half 11 Joanne was all ready and a bag of nerves. She looked beautiful.
"I should get changed. This isn't good." She looked down at her outfit.
"Stop it dear." Her mother said, "you look just fine."
"You look wonderful. Aaron won't know what hit him."
"Well I don't like it. I want to change." She pouted.
"That's your favourite top." Her mum accused.
Joanne pouted more.
"It's lovely Joanne. Stop worrying." I told her.
