(15) ~ Cat Troubles (Part Four)

You found yourself walking to an on-campus shopping center. By the time you reached the store, you had calmed down completely.

It was a clothing store. Walking into it, you browses the racks for any cap that was your size. A black cap caught your eye. You grabbed it off of the shelf.

Perfect. The hat looked nice, and it had the logo of SFIT so no one would suspect you. Taking out your wallet full of stuffed money, you headed towards the register.

"Hey guys." You opened the door to the lab. Everyone looked up. You smiled, and walked to your desk. Hiro came up.

"Lookin' awesome." He told you. You looked up at his face and smiled again. "Thanks."

The two of you stared at each other for a second, then you both flushed and looked away. Him, to the other side of the room, you to your work. A tingling feeling was set in your chest, though you didn't know if it was the fondness for Hiro or the ears. It was probably both.

You put your hands on the cap, pushing it down in case the ears popped out, pretending to think. Sure enough, they did. You tensed. Don't tell me I have to hold down the cap the whole time.

Wasabi and Fred came over. "Excuse me, Hiro. We-"

"Hiro always hangs out with _____." Fred whispers to Wasabi. Hiro's face turns red and he turns away. You look down.

Wasabi gives Fred a hard look, then continues.

"Excuse us, we need to talk to _____." You stood up, nodded to them, and gave Hiro a smile. Then you, following Fred and Wasabi, walked out the door.

Fred grabs your hat and pulls it of. You shriek, reaching for it. When you couldn't, you covered up your popped out ears.

"Fred. Don't be so sudden." Wasabi said calmly. Wasabi walks up to you, and you back away. "What are you gonna do?"

"I'm just going to ask you some questions." You hoped it was not about your...... problem.

"What's the problem? Like with your head?" Fred asked.

You sighed, and gave in. You didn't care what they thought. It didn't matter. "Look." You muttered, taking off your hands. Your smushed cat ears popped out, and Fred gasped.

You winced, waiting for their criticism, until Fred yelled, "That's awesome! You're just like Cat-Man!" You looked up with watery eyes.

Wasabi was just staring at you with his mouth open. "H-how is that p-possible!?"

Fred leaped into the air and shouted, "Yahoo!" You glared at him.

"If you guys tell anyone, I'll kill you two personally with my new "claws"." You said, although you didn't have claws. Hiro couldn't know, and that was most important.

"Oooh!" Honey Lemon squealed. "You're in love with him, huh?"

You thought of what Honey Lemon had said. Again, you flushed, but none of the two noticed. Fred was squishing your ears, which felt supremely uncomfortable.

You ducked and ran out of the room, grabbing your hat along the way. You placed it back on, running into the lab. You smiled, went on your tippy toes and back down, tapped your hands against the side of your thighs, and walked back to your lab.

You heard footsteps approaching, but you bent down lower on your work, hoping whoever was there would go away. Instead, they leaned against your chair and muttered a "Hey."

It was Hiro. You blushed, and looked up. "Hey," you breathed.

He grinned at you, noticing your new cap. "New cap, huh?"

You nodded, speechless. What was wrong with him? He acknowledged the hat earlier already.

"Let me see." He grabbed for your cap, but you tried your best to stay calm, which worked. He examined your head, and you sat there, unmoving.

The tingling feeling in your chest came. Uh oh. Does it have to be now? Again, you were unsure if the feeling was because pf the ears or just plain embarrassment. A few seconds later, there was a ruffle on the top of your head.

The ears popped out.

Yay! A super long chappie! Does anyone like cliffies? 'Cause I do! But only if I'm writing them! Mwahahaha!

Soooooooooooo sorry it's late, but I got a message from Wattpad saying that my book (this book) was in the wrong category, and that I couldn't write till it was changed. Then....

My wifi was shut down for 2 whole days. I got soooooooooooo frustrated. But it's a long chapter to make up, just look at the word count at the bottom and compare it to the others ~ you'll see.
