"Well it's going to be a bit cramped in here, but we'll manage. Come on in!" Jeremy leads Y/N in with the Baudelaire's following.
"Crabs!" Violet points, jumping back.
"Our shack has crabs," Klaus steps back, defeated.
"Fungus," Y/N scrunches her nose.
"Yeah, our shack has fungus," Jeremy shrugs. "This is Duncan and Isadora, they are able to move out now that you guys are here.
Klaus follows Duncan's eyes, noticing they haven't left Y/N from the moment they stepped in the shack.
"Nice to meet you," Duncan quickly sticks his hand out to Y/N, to which she politely shakes his hand.
"Yes, it's nice to have others in a similar situation as us here," Isadora speaks up. "Perhaps we can catch up at dinner. I don't mean to be rude, but my brother and I need to move to our new location before they change their mind. See you around," she drags her brother away.
"Well, I know it's not much, but I try to make the best of this shack. I'll let you guys settle in," Jeremy says.
"This is ridiculous," Klaus sighs.
"We can fix it up a little," Y/N suggests.
"I don't mean the shack, I mean this school. Orphans shouldn't be punished for not having parents. Didn't that principal say something about tying our hands behind our backs when we eat?" Klaus shakes his head.
"I know, but we have to think about the bigger picture," Violet pipes up. "Our parents and guardians were a part of something. It might be the reason all these terrible things keep happening to us. This is a school, let's see what we can learn. Besides, Y/N never would have found her brother if we didn't get stuck here," she smiles.
Y/N smiles back and nods, "She's right. It's hard to stay positive, but at least Olaf hasn't shown up yet."
The children all try to get settled as best as possible when living in a shack full of crabs and fungus. Y/N spends most of the time speaking with Jeremy, glad to catch up. She is now sitting on the bed, neatly folding the sheets.
"Hey Y/N, can we talk?" Klaus sits beside the girl.
"Oh, yeah. What were you trying to say earlier? I'm sorry I wasn't giving you my full attention earlier."
"Oh that's quite alright," he smiles nervously. "I was just wondering uh, what are we? Like are we um..." Klaus trails off, not sure of what to say.
"I would like to be...if that's okay with you of course," Y/N looks down, her face flushing red.
Klaus gently places his hand under the girls chin, gently lifting her head, "I would love to. That's the best news I've heard all day," the boy beams.
His eyes flick from her lips, back up to her eyes. Klaus leans in slightly, unsure if Y/N wants to. But, being full of surprises, she leans in and kisses him, to which he happily kisses back.
"Ahem," Jeremy fake coughs not even a second later.
This scares the two orphans apart, both embarrassed.
"Jeremy!" Y/N rubs the back of her neck, not making eye contact with her brother.
"Hey, I honestly didn't mean to interrupt. But, I was hoping I would be able to hang out with my sister, but it appears she'll be occupied with other things," Jeremy teases.
"Oh, no no! I'm not going-I mean, you guys can hang out as long as you want," Klaus awkwardly stutters out.
"Don't worry about it, kid," Jeremy laughs. "But it is time for us to get some rest, you guys are in for a long first day tomorrow."
