"If I keep turning it on and off, it might stabilize it," Violet yells over her brothers screaming.
Y/N nods slightly, barely able to breath. Or feel her hand with the death grip Klaus has on it. Violet turns the spyglass again, turning the heat back on. The balloon slowly stops falling, once again rising. Klaus, in turn, slowly stops screaming as well.
He breathes heavily, looking down where they were just falling before looking back up at Y/N and his sisters. His face flushes pink, embarrassed by his reaction.
"Sorry," he mumbles.
Y/N giggles slightly, rubbing her ear jokingly. Just as the balloon reaches the penthouse, Klaus lets out a sigh of relief.
"For a second there, I thought we were actually-" Klaus is cut short by the balloon catching on fire and shriveling up, vanishing.
Violet grabs Sunny, holding onto the ledge of the opening to the elevator. Klaus attempts to do the same, but with one hand. Seeing as he still has Y/N's hand in a death grip, she isn't able to to grab the ledge, leaving her dangling over the elevator shaft.
"Klaus!" she shouts in a panic.
Violet pulls herself and Sunny up, then attempts to help Klaus. After a few moments, Klaus is able to pull himself and Y/N out. She breathes heavily, hugging the boy tightly.
"It's okay," he rubs her back gently, "I'll always save you".
The touching moment is stopped short by a scream escaping Violet's lips, another quickly followed from Esme.
"Jerome! What happened to him?" Violet asks in distress.
"Oh uh, he just collapsed at dinner," Esme smiles, dragging Jerome's limp body.
"Collapsed?" Klaus raises his eyebrows, peering down at the man.
"Fell sound asleep," Esme breathes wearily.
Upon closer inspection, Jerome is in fact snoring softly.
"You should also be asleep. It is...well whatever time it is," Esme continues dragging her sleeping husband.
"Is Gunther here?" Y/N asks.
"Who? No, no," Esme says, dazed, and slightly annoyed with all the questions.
Y/N lets out a breath, leaning against the wall behind her. Klaus turns to her, smiling slightly, hoping to offer some sort of comfort.
"Jerome, wake up," Violet shakes the sleeping man once Esme lays him on the couch.
"Let him rest. Sleep is a natural part of life," the woman shrugs.
"We need to tell him something important," Klaus sighs.
"You can tell me, I'm important," Esme places her hand on her right hip.
This leaves Klaus standing with his mouth open, unsure of how to proceed. He glances at Violet and Y/N for help. The awkward pause causes Esme to raise her eyebrows.
"Well?" she inquires. "I know I am an insanely power woman, but I am your guardian. You can tell me anything".
"You might not believe us," Y/N pipes up, still trying to stall.
"Try me," Esme smiles.
The children look at each other, still unsure if they want to push it.
"Um well, Klaus and I are dating," Y/N spits out before Violet or Klaus can speak.
Having been through this before, she knows nothing good ever actually comes when they seek help. The adults either never believe her, or they are on Olaf's side.
