Chapter 6 Baking
Third person pov.
Small time skip.
Shortly after sitting at the far table at the back of the room and drawing random stuff on paper and joking around, Mr. Todd came back into the room and went straight to them. He had talked to the principal of the school to find out what will be happening with these students and he got his answers, “I'm sorry guys but you were late and missed the bus to Stark Tower, everyone is already there. The King T’challa and Princess Shuri alongside Tony Stark and Bruce Banner are announcing about what they will be doing to schools now. Something about making it better” he said, taking a seat at the table with the three teens.
Dove stops everything she was doing and looks at her art teacher in shock, “Wait what?” she leans onto the table even more to look past Anna to Mr. Todd; and placed a hand out and on top of the school semi old cream brown table towards her art teacher, “Mr. Stark was here? He walked in our school?” Her pointing finger slamming onto the cream table as she asks him.
Damon laughs and rolls his eyes at Dove. He knows about Dove’s big crush on Tony Stark. She has had a crush on him for a couple years now. To Damon he thinks Tonys cool…, but he’s jealous of him because Anna also has a semi crush on him.
Mr. Todd raises his eyebrow at her, "Yes, he was. But only for thirty-so-minutes. Since you three have missed the busses and are stuck here until everyone comes back, you three will be starting off jobs they have left you. The teachers were supposed to stay back and start on everything…, but they didn't because their... hot.” he shakes his head, “Whatever. Well the principle gave you three your job ideas so follow me please”
Small time skip.
Mr. Todd, Dove, Anna and Damon walk into a medium sized kitchen/classroom, “So… what are we doing here?” Damon asks, taking a seat at one of the tables in the middle of the room.
Dove places her bag on the counter that's right beside the classroom door. She steps farther into the room and takes a seat with Damon and Anna at the table.
“So the school is going to be having a very big fair/carnival, it will be on these grounds and the whole school is going to help set it up. There's going to be games, food, rides, ticket winnings and so on” he said. He claps his hands together, “So what you three are going to be doing is baking a lot of baked goods. Cookies, muffins, cakes and so on. Most of the goods will be sold but the other baked goods will be prizes” he said.
Dove nods her head, “So… we're just going to be baking until everyone gets back?” she asks him. Mr. Todd nods his head.
Anna straightens her back, "Right yeah.... umm... so I can not bake or cook... I gave these two food poisoning once.... Or twice-”
“Yeah that wasn't fun” Dove pitchens in. Damon laughs and Anna glares at them. Dove raises her hands up at her in-defense, but she continues to slightly chuckle to herself because of remembering what had happened before; in the middle; and end of these moments in life.
Mr. Todd chuckles, "Yes. You three will be baking. Anna you can help wash if you're not comfortable to bake with them…. or just don't… do much with the food, there's stuff that doesn't contain making or touching food, just so… no one gets sick" he said.
Anna pouts into Damon's arms and Damon kisses the top of her head, but tries not to laugh with Dove. "Also I don't care what you bake first. Do what you see on the list and pick your favorite. List is over there” he said pointing over to where Dove’s bag is placed. “Again there really is no real order of baking them, so go at it. Everything you would need is placed in the next classroom by the guy with medium long brown hair, the guy who can fly, the Captain and the guy in the spider suit. Tony Stark even gave the class more equipment” he said, pointing to the door on the other side of the room that leads to the room with all the equipment.
He thinks he’s done telling them everything they would know and goes and turns to leave.
Dove quickly gets up, almost knocking the chair over, “Wait do we get breaks through all this?” she asks him. Mr. Todd turns around and looks at her and shrugs his shoulders, “I guess, doesn't matter to me” he said. Dove nods her head, “Uh.. what can we do on these breaks?” she asks, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.
He turns back around once again, “Well if none of you get hurt you can do whatever you want” he said shrugging his shoulders, “I'll be in my room if you need me” he adds on before just leaving them.
Dove smiles and nods her head, “Well I'm going to go and buy something at the vending machine. You guys want something from it?” she asks as she walks to her bag to get her wallet out.
“I'll have a bag of salt and vinegar chips, a water bottle, a bottle of coke, some sort of chocolate bar and fruite packages” Damon said, getting out of his chair and going to her.
He pulled out his wallet and gave her a twenty dollar bill, “Anna you can get whatever you want too” he said to his girlfriend. Anna smiles and skips over to Dove. “I'm going to grab what we will need, I'm picking what we are making first,” he adds.
He pats his girlfriend's head and walks away from her.
Third person POV.
Steve Rogers walks over to the principal of the school they are working with right now to see if they have everyone with them, "So Principal Andersen, is everyone with us?" he asks him.
Mr. Anderson looks away from his phone and shakes his head at him, “No. Some kids are home sick or just didn't come today and we have three students who missed the bus and are still at the school,” he said. Steve nods his head, "But I got them working on some of the baking" Mr. Anderson adds on.
"Well that's good," Steve said.
