Daisy POV

Mum narrowed her eyes at me, one brow slowly lifting while she braced her hands on the table in front of her. "Daisy, I am only going to ask one more time...what is going on with you?"

I shrugged my shoulders, a bitter and awful taste once again filling my mouth. This damn Mandrake leaf was getting grosser and grosser by the day.

"Daisy Adhara Black, I am getting really angry now. Tell me what is going on!"
"Nofim." I mumbled, a bitter slime trickling down the inside of my throat. It was so gross. Mum's eyes narrowed again before she spun around.

"Daisy Adhara, don't lie to me!" I was a terribly bad liar and I hated lying to mum, but technically I or we were not lying, we simply did not tell her everything.

"Sirius Orion Black you come here now! Immediately!"

With a boyish grin on his face my father entered the room, his gaze jumping between my fuming mother and me. I grimaced, searching his gaze for help.

"What is going on, darling?" dad questioned, the corners of his mouth constantly moving upwards.

"Our daughter is not talking to me, grimaces constantly and I really do believe that there is a Mandrake leaf in her mouth and the two of you are keeping something from me. Maybe so ething that has to do with Animagi?"

Dad walked up to mum, slinging his arms around her waist and kissed her shoulder. "We would never do such thing. We were just waiting for you to find out."

For a split second I thought mum was going to explode, spinning around and poking her finger into my father's chest. I just sat there, trying to keep the awful leaf under my tongue and watching my parents with wary eyes.

"You are teaching our daughter to become an animagus? This is so dangerous!" mum expressed, throwing her hands in the air.

"Darling, yes, it is dangerous, but our daughter is extremely smart and talented, just like her amazing mother. There is nothing to worry about." With that he kissed her and I knew right then that mum would fold and calm down. A slight wave of relief washed through my body but was quickly eroded when my mother spun around and waddled towards me. Her brows were furrowed and she shook her head.

"And now to you, Daisy Adhara." Godrick, mum only ever used my full name when she was really mad. I thought dad had calmed her down, but I guess I was wrong.

Her hands moved to my jaw and she tilted my head back to make me look at her. "Daisy, this is so dangerous. You have to be careful."
"Ahm wiff dad I'm safe." Mum dropped her head to me and kissed my brow, before rolling her eyes.

"How long is she going to be like that?"

"Only two more days. Then it is a month."

"How did I not notice it for so long?"
"Becauf I waf im school." Nodding, mum sat down next to me again, drawing in a deep breath. And then a wet kitchen cloth with which she had been wiping the table hit my father on the head.

"You two—"
"Muuuuuuummy! Daaaaaaaddy. Daiiiiiiiiiisy! I got something." And with that my little brother interrupted whatever mum was going to say, bursted inside, slamming the door open so that the whole house rattled. I nearly choked on my Mandrake leave when I took in my little brother who was basically covered in at least 15 Bowtruckles.

"What is up with this family?!" mum expressed, a chuckle following.

My father laughed loudly when Oscar neared us. I had always thought those Bowtruckles were super shy but apperently they loved my little brother—well, who would not love Oscar?
