~November 1994~
Daisy POV
"Hello, hello, Potter-boy." I greeted Harry whose head hung between his knees while sitting on the staircase leading up to his dorm room. I squeezed in between the wall and him and placed my hand on his shoulder. "How are you?"
"Do you really want to be seen with me?"
"I really don't care. You are," —I lowered my voice— "something like a brother to me. Those idiots are just jealous, but I believe you."
"But they will treat you badly too, if you are seen with me." Harry expressed, practically whining.
"Do I look like I care? No."
"How dare they say I put my name in? Even Ron believes it." I huffed in frustration, leaning my head against Harry's shoulder. "They are idiots."
"Why do you believe me, Daisy?" Harry then questioned. "Because I am no idiot and I know you are no idiot. Why would you have put that name in yourself?" I honestly told him, trying to keep my tone solemn. Harry inhaled deeply, leaning his head against mine. "We are not related by blood but you definitely do feel a lot like a little sister."
"I know. I always wanted to have siblings, it's cool to have you in my life now." A faint laugh left Harry at that and I started drawing circles on the wooden step underneath me. "Our dads were best friends. They maybe have sat here one day too and talked." I murmured. Harry gave me no answer so I quickly added, "I am sorry to have brought it up, we don't have to talk about it."
"No, I like to talk about him or them."
I smiled. More to myself as Harry could not see my face. "Dad always says that they got in so much trouble and mum and uncle Moony always say that you and I remind them so much of them." Harry's shoulders shook with silent laughter. I chuckled, too.
"I wonder how Sirius wooed your mother. She always seems so decent and not like a troublemaker." Harry chuckled. I dipped my chin against his shoulder. "Right? Good girl likes bad boy apparently. But aunt Britt told me mum had a crush on dad from like fourth year up or so and for dad it was love at first sight in his sixth year. Suuuper cheesy, those two."
Now we both had to laugh and I straightened up as my neck had started to ache a bit.
"Super cheesy but also cute."
"Oh Godrick, is there someone you like? If you use the word cute?" Colour bloomed high on his cheeks and I grinned wickedly.
"Tell me. Oh, tell me, please. You have to. Who us it? Hermione? Parvati? Tell me!" I whined, starting to poke and tickle his belly. Harry tried to swat my hands away, laughing loudly until tears appeared in his eyes. "Stop. Stop!" he cried out while laughing uncontrollably. I reluctantly gave in to his begging.
"No, no. It is none of them. She is from another house."
"Which one?" I lifted my finger again, getting ready for another round of tickling.
"Cho Chang." My mouth formed a bright smile. "Aw, that is sooo cute. You would make a lovely couple."
"Daisy, you are twelve you don't even know what you are saying and Cho is with Cedrick by the way." I pouted at him calling me out on my age. "Doesn't matter. Should I take care of it? Maybe I find a spell to make the pretty boy come out with a rash or so?"
The corners of Harry's mouth tipped up and he laughed. "I appreciate that, but...NO."
I pouted again, shrugging my shoulders.
"Please, don't tell anyone. We should head to bed now. Sleep tight, Dais." Harry stood in one swift movement and pulled me after him.
"Okay. Good night and have sweet dreams about Cho." Once again grinning mischievously, I hoped down the last steps, turned back an waved. Harry rolled his eyes, but still smiled back at me.
Well, apparently everyone decided to be cheesy and in love that school year.

"Sure you can sit with me." I told Harry when he looked for a place to sit in the Great Hall the next day. Some pupils pulled grimaces at me, stuck out their tongues or sneered. Rolling my eyes, I decided to ignore them. Harry was more family than a friend and hence he would come first. Also I did not understand how the others still believed he put in his own name.
"Thanks, Dais." Harry whispered over the table. I smiled, bowing my head at him. "Always, Harry."
Later on also Josie and Sue joined us. They gave Harry one wary glance to which I kicked Josie under the table. "I can leav—"
"No way."
"It is fine." Sue whispered, giving her a small smile over the table. Neither of them thought that Harry had put in his own name, but still they rather followed the crowd than one person.
"So, I wonder what Potter comes up with next? Are you going to run for minister of magic at the age of fifteen." The voice, the awful voice, could only belong to ferret-boy Draco Malfoy. Disdain and disgust displayed all over my face I quickly spun around and glowered at him. He gave me a wicked grin in return. "Maybe your little friend here will be your vice-chancellor?"
"Shut up, Malfoy." I grumbled into his direction, knowing I had to be careful as I really did not want to go into detention again.
"Oh-ho-ho. Did you hear that? How the second year baby talks to me?"
"Be careful or I'll punch you in the face."
To that he and his companions laughed loudly. "Now I am afraid. But where were we. Ah, right, Harry. How did you like the badges?"
"Slither back into the hole you came out from and use your time bleaching your hair or whatever Draco ferret-boy Malfoy brings happiness, but stop bothering us." I expressed, a tint too loud probably.
Now he was fuming and I knew I had definitely hurt his ego.
"My father will hear about this. We will see for how long your mother will then still work in the ministry, Daisy Bell." With that he stormed away, his friends following.
My stomach twisted momentarily, but I knew that mum's job was secure and she was also rather close with Fudge so she would be fine. Right? At least I hoped so.
Harry gave me a thankful smile before lowering his gaze to his plate again. Josie and Sue huffed in unison and I started to eat again, wondering why everything also had to be so messed up.
