Daisy POV

Faster than we would have thought the Christmas Holidays had arrived.

I really tried to act normal when mum picked me up at King's Cross, but my mood hit rock bottom.

Everything was a bit too much—Snape, the Carrows, Harry, mum and dad going on Order missions and....Blaise.

"Daisy. Could you please just talk to me? Huh, what is going on?" mum mumbled when she stepped over the threshold after me.

"Nothing is going on. He is just an idiot!" I groaned, tossing my bag away and dropping down on the couch. Mum probably thought I was talking about Snape, which was fine. Never would I reveal that I had a crush on Blaise Zabini. This idiot. Why did I have to fall for him...

She raised her brows at me in her mum way of disbelief.

When Oscar waddled towards me I quickly leaned down, handed him a toy, groaning in frustration. I was not in the mood to play with him now—I loved my brother, but now I wanted to be annoyed.

Leaning back onto the couch, I pulled her feet up and snuck my around arms around her legs while pulling them close to me.

"And who exactly is an idiot?" mum asked carefully. "Daisy? What is going on?"

Mum slowly approached me, sitting down next to me and moving her hand to my shoulder. Damn, I did not want behave so idiotic, but also did not want mum to care so much. I was an idiot and I did not want to affect mum with it. I wiggled away, shaking her hand off.

"How are my two favourite ladies doing?" my father then asked joyfully, entering the room. Brilliant. "Ugh," I groaned, throwing my bead back.

"What is going on with the two of you? What's up?" He picked up Oscar and finally fully stepped into the room. Mum shrugged, brushing her hand over my back. Mum, don't be so kind I am pissed.

"Someone apparently is an idiot?" she stated which made a small growl leave my throat.

"Mum!" I exclaimed and she lifted her hands in a defensive manner, eyes going wide.

I did not want mum to know about Blaise, but definitely not dad. He would freak out—go to Hogwarts and beat up Blaise or so.

"Tell me who is an idiot then? The tall boy who I saw you talking to at the platform? Has he done something? Has he done something that makes him an idiot?" I shook her head at mum, immediately burying my face in my hands. Shit, she had seen me.

Heat and colour filled my cheeks and I prayed mum hadn't seen it.

"What boy?" my dad cut in. Great.Great.Great.

"Is he your boyfriend?" mum quickly and slightly too excitedly asked me. Everything inside of me screamed. NO.

"Boyfriend!?" Dad seemed utterly shocked.

"No, he is not my boyfriend. He is an idiot!" I snapped and mum moved her hands over mine, pulling them away from my face. "And why is he an idiot? And why are you so upset? Just because he is an idiot?" mum brushed her thumb over my jaw, giving me a sympathetic look. God, mum really was the best and now I already hated myself for snarling at her.

"Because he is in Slytherin!" I coldly stated, not really being able to come up with any other reason.

Mum shook my head, clicking my tongue. Anger practically radiated from every fiber of her body. ANd also disappointment which made my stomach dip. Well done, Daisy.
