Chapter Thirty-One

Miriam POV's:

I woke up early at 6:37 almost 25 minutes before I was supposed to.

I grab my phone and I see something I haven't seen in a while.
A message from Mei.

Mommy's Girl: Can we talk tomorrow?

I have to reread that message and second time, just to make sure I'm not delusional.

I look at my screen, and notice the time it was sent.

10:38.

That means she wants to talk today.
Wait...Today!

I quickly get ready, like brushing my teeth and changing into my room outfit right away.

I'm wearing a green flannel with a white shirt underneath, some black baggy jeans, and my black converse chucks.

Right when I'm about to go downstairs for breakfast, I remember I didn't even reply to her message.

Me: yea sure

I walk downstairs and I already see my older sister.

"What are you doing so early?"

Miriam: O-oh. I just woke up early. So I got ready early.

The room is filled with a silence for a while.

Miriam: So Vanessa...Can you please drop me off at school!

Vanessa: No way. I'm picking up Collin. Just ride ur skateboard.

Miriam: Bruh. How you going to choose your boyfriend over your sister?

Vanessa: Cause Collin doesn't annoy me 24/7. Now go ride your skateboard. It's like a 10 minute ride.

Miriam: But it's windy! The wind is cold!

"Wear a coat then."

"But then it's bulky and it's hard to ride in."

"Wear a thicker sweater."

"No all the ones I have look goofy."

Vanessa: Damn your annoying! If your not in the car, in five minutes then I'm leaving you.

Miriam: Thank you! You're the best!

Vanessa: Yea,yea. Hurry up.

Then she walked outside and into her car.

I run into our pantry and grab a Cliff bar and run outside.

Miriam: Can I be-

"No."

"But wh-"

"Collin is sitting there."

I walk back to the backseat, and I put my bag, skateboard, phone, and volleyball bag inside the car and then I climb in.

Vanessa: Why'd you bring your skateboard?

Miriam: Because. For after school. Unless you wanna pick me up again?

Vanessa: Hmmm. Spend time with my 16 year old little sister after school, OR, go to the awesome senior party that's going to last all night! Such a hard choice.

I roll my eyes at this already knowing the answer. 

We eventually get to Collin's house, and he just patiently sitting on his porch.

Vanessa honks her horn, and Collins basically sprints to the door.

Collins: "Hey babe."

He leans into her for a kiss which she easily returns.

Miriam: I swear you guys better not switch up and turn into some horny teenagers.

Vanessa: You just had to ruin the moment didn't you?

Miriam: It's what I do best.

Collin just laughs at our behavior and gets to be in control of the aux.

Since we went and picked up Collin the distance to school, grew a bit. I was just scrolling through Instagram, and then I hear.

"Hey Mei is also here early. Now you won't be lonely."

I snap my head up, and I see the school practically deserted. Except for one person.
