The snow was as prominent as ever against the gray sky as Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Theodore, Blaise, Airam, Jalen, and I descended the marble steps to get our names checked off and go into Hogsmead for the third time. Pansy had ran off with Millicent and Tracey, babbling about how they were "better" as if she didn't ditch them for us for the past couple of weeks.
As I watched Harry ascend back up the marble staircase as he had for the past two times going to Hogsmead, I narrowed my eyes as he and Ron exchanged suspicious glances. I had asked him a while ago how he was even in Hogsmead the last time he was crying, and he had explained that he used his Invisibility Cloak, which was obvious. So I expected him to be there again today.
"Sierra, are you sure you don't want me to carry you?" Draco asked and I looked up at him, perplexed.
"No...why would you need to?"
"Because you broke your leg."
I laughed. "Draco! That was like two weeks ago! Madam Pomfrey healed it way easier since it wasn't on my joint and I've been walking fine."
"But," Theodore interjected, literally sliding into our conversation and having his eyebrows jump at me. "This is a lot of walking. We all know your leg is weak, Sierra."
Even though he chuckled playfully, one of the words he said stung. Weak. "My leg is not weak," I said lowly. The grin was wiped off his face in a heartbeat and he held his hands up.
"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to...yeah, sorry." He backed away into Airam and yelped as they collided and I turned back to Draco.
"Er--are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Why?"
For about the millionth time, he looked down at my chest and I groaned, shoving him back lightly. "Draco, if you tell me to take this off one more time--"
"I wasn't going to say to take it off," he mumbled.
I rolled my eyes and stepped up to Filch. He looked me up and down before checking my name off and beckoning me forward.
"Listen," I told Theodore as I was shoved between him and Draco in the carriage. "I didn't mean to snap at you back there."
"You sort of growled," he said with a laugh. "But its okay." He rubbed my arm. "I know you've been a little grumpy because Draco is annoying--"
"I'm not annoying!"
"--so I totally understand," Theodore finished as if Draco hadn't spoken a word. "Only kidding. Blimey, mate, you don't need to lose it," he added when Draco started seething from beside me.
The carriage came to a halt, and before I could hop out and run to the first store my anxious eyes settled on, Draco grabbed onto the sleeve of my robes quickly. "Wait, love, I know you're going to be shocked, but I want to go to Zonko's first."
My eyes widened, and everyone who was getting out of the carriages stopped. "You want to go to Zonko's?" I asked him and he nodded.
"Don't make too big a deal out of it. It's only because I need something that's going to be hilarious." He released my sleeve and started trudging his way through the snow and over to the joke shop which was already bustling with Hogwarts students.
We all exchanged bewildered expressions before following after him hurriedly. When he entered the shop, the loud noise almost busted my eardrums, but still caused me to smile. As we all went into different directions, I set off in search of the Weasley twins, knowing they had to be somewhere in the mass of people running around. It wasn't long before, instead of me finding them, they found me.
